Quando Dio intinge la sua penna d'amore nel mio cuore*

E scrive alla mia anima un messaggio che vuole che io conosca

Il suo spirito tutto divino riempie questa mia anima peccaminosa

Quando Dio immerge il suo amore nel mio cuore

Bene, ho detto che non l'avrei detto a un'anima vivente

Come ha portato la salvezza quando mi ha guarito

Ma ho scoperto che non potevo nascondere l'amore che Gesù ha impartito

Perché mi fa ridere e mi fa piangere

Quando dà fuoco alla mia anima peccaminosa

A volte però il modo è cupo e freddo

E un po' di dolore non gravato mi impedisce di raggiungere la meta

Vado a Dio nella preghiera, posso sempre trovarlo lì
