Six - Sleeping At Last

I had the most vivid dream…

My feet had left the ground

I was floating to heaven

But I could only look down

My mind was heavy

Running ragged with worst case scenarios

Emergency exits and the distance below

I woke up so worried that the angels let go

Oh God I’m so tired

Of being afraid

What would it feel like

To put this baggage down?

If I’m being honest

I’m not sure I’d know how

I want to take shelter but I’m ready, ready to fight

And somewhere in the middle I feel a little paralyzed-

But maybe I’m stronger than I realize

I want to believe

No, I choose to believe

That I was made to become

A sanctuary

Fear won’t go away

But I can keep it at bay

And these invisible walls

Just might keep us safe

With vigilant heart

I’ll push into the dark

But I’ll learn to breathe deep

And make peace with the stars

Is that courage or faith

To show up every day?

To trust that there will be light

Always waiting behind

Even the darkest of nights

And no matter what

Somehow we’ll be okay

Don’t be afraid

I miei piedi avevano lasciato il suolo

Stavo fluttuando verso il paradiso

Ma potevo solo guardare in basso

La mia mente era pesante

In esecuzione irregolare con gli scenari peggiori

Uscite di emergenza e distanza sottostante

Mi sono svegliato così preoccupato che gli angeli si fossero lasciati andare

Oh Dio, sono così stanco

Di aver paura

Come sarebbe

Per mettere giù questo bagaglio?

Se devo essere onesto

Non sono sicuro di sapere come

Voglio rifugiarmi ma sono pronto, pronto a combattere

E da qualche parte nel mezzo mi sento un po' paralizzato-

Ma forse sono più forte di quanto mi renda conto

Voglio credere

No, scelgo di credere

Che sono stato fatto per diventare

Un santuario

La paura non andrà via

Ma posso tenerlo a bada

E questi muri invisibili

Solo potrebbe tenerci al sicuro

Con cuore vigile

Mi spingerò nel buio

Ma imparerò a respirare profondamente

E fare pace con le stelle

È coraggio o fede

Per presentarsi ogni giorno?

Per fidare che ci sarà luce

Sempre in attesa dietro

Anche la notte più buia

E qualunque cosa accada

In qualche modo andrà tutto bene
