On the 24th of May 1863, Professor Lindenbrook and his nephew Axel discovered

an old parchment within

a 12th century volume entitled «Heims Kringa», itself a chronicle of the

Norwegian Princes who had ruled over

Iceland.

Written in runic manuscript by Arne Saknussemm (an alchemist of the 16th

century) it translated:

…"Descent into the crater of Sneffels Yokul, over which the shadow of

Scataris falls before the kalends of

July, bold traveller, and you will reach the center of the earth."

Two centuries forward from this discovery, three geologian explorers traversed

land and sea before they

reached the mass of volcanic tufa known as Iceland.

Veiled in secrecy,

their purpose: — to emulate the journey

that had been taken by their forefathers two hundred years previous.

For fear of beeing followed, their identities were known to no-one,

and for this reason, as they began their

ascent through vast fields of ice toward the magnificent snowy nightcap of the

Sneffels volcano, their

expectations became inexplicably interwined with those of unease,

as they prepared to challenge timeless

history.

On reaching the tabletop summit, they slowly descended onto the crater of

Sneffels Yokul …

… And so began: -«The Return To The Centre Of The Earth».

Il 24 maggio 1863 il professor Lindenbrook e suo nipote Axel scoprirono

una vecchia pergamena all'interno

un volume del 12° secolo intitolato «Heims Kringa», esso stesso una cronaca del

Principi norvegesi che avevano governato

Islanda.

Scritto in manoscritto runico da Arne Saknussemm (un alchimista del XVI

secolo) ha tradotto:

..."Discesa nel cratere di Sneffels Yokul, su cui l'ombra di

Scataris cade prima delle calende di

Luglio, audace viaggiatore, e raggiungerai il centro della terra".

Due secoli avanti da questa scoperta, tre esploratori geologi hanno attraversato

terra e mare prima di loro

raggiunse la massa di tufo vulcanico detta Islanda.

Velato nel segreto,

il loro scopo: — emulare il viaggio

che era stato preso dai loro antenati duecento anni prima.

Per paura di essere seguiti, le loro identità non erano note a nessuno,

e per questo motivo, come iniziarono il loro

ascesa attraverso vasti campi di ghiaccio verso il magnifico berretto notturno innevato del

Vulcano Sneffels, loro

le aspettative si sono inspiegabilmente intrecciate con quelle del malessere,

mentre si preparavano a una sfida senza tempo

storia.

Quando hanno raggiunto la vetta del tavolo, sono scesi lentamente sul cratere di

Sneffels Yokul…

… E così cominciò: -«Il ritorno al centro della Terra».
