We live in the flicker

Perceptions changing constantly

Struck with youthful vigor

My mind’s kept within a dream

This celestial maelstrom envelops me

A prismatic blindfold, ensnares the seer

Time drifts through these years

So hold onto your dreams

Is the spotless mind

Leaving roses

At the devil’s shrine

So unaware of the dark out there

We sip from the fountains of innocence

And slip through the confines of existence

And as the sun peers down upon us all

Its glow evades the eyes of the ones grown old

Youth is envied, the truth is not

Divine entrapment conceals my thoughts

And forming speech and taking steps

Is all the world will beckon for

That essence of reality

Is yet to meet my eyes

The darkness is consumed by light

And my dreams, elated, take their flight

But undeveloped is our limbic system

And all of these visions will be lost

An esoteric contemplation

On what we’re meant for in this life

Yearning to grow but still confined to a seed
