Last night in broad daylight

I was covered in blood

mostly from the insides

of the people I love

I woke to find, a sleeplessness unkind

the blue T. V light flickers with a hollow mix of sympathy and scorn

I check she’s lying next to me,

these sleepless fits are dew drops on a lawn

The cracked throat thirst of morning,

your skin as white as snow,

I’ve been a week now falling,

down this rabbit hole

Some things remain, an old familiar stain,

the flashlight fear of evening peaks

as shadows stretch themselves across the floor,

she’ll tell you tales of fortresses

as light it makes its way in through the door

Some thing tells me a morning will come,

it will bleach the night, repair the sun,

it’s something I lost and it’s something found,

until then I will go to ground

'til then I’ll await the sound

of broad daylight

Ieri sera in pieno giorno

Ero coperto di sangue

principalmente dall'interno

delle persone che amo

Mi svegliai per trovare un'insonnia scortese

la luce blu della T. V sfarfalla con un vuoto mix di simpatia e disprezzo

Controllo che sia sdraiata accanto a me,

questi attacchi insonni sono gocce di rugiada su un prato

La sete di gola spezzata del mattino,

la tua pelle bianca come la neve,

È da una settimana che cado,

in questa tana del coniglio

Alcune cose rimangono, una vecchia macchia familiare,

la paura della torcia dei picchi serali

mentre le ombre si allungano sul pavimento,

ti racconterà storie di fortezze

come luce si fa strada attraverso la porta

Qualcosa mi dice verrà un mattino,

schiarirà la notte, riparerà il sole,

è qualcosa che ho perso ed è qualcosa che ho trovato,

fino ad allora andrò a terra

fino ad allora aspetterò il suono

di pieno giorno
