to the land of perpetual twilight

wherewhere bags of weird junkstands

howling at the street lamps

And fun house mirrors pose

And shop windows and statues come to life

And gargoyles dance

I think I’m gonna go down to where the street sweeps are saints

Where dog eats dog and the rats are winning the race

I think I’m gonna go down and watch the people chase their lives

And life chase it’s tail with death close behind

I can’t sit still

Pacing the window sill

Of curiosity

Nine whole lives ahead of me

Nine whole lives to do as I please

It’s the fun, it’s the thrill

Of possibility

Then I’ll go down even further

Where sunlight has to be bottled, labeled, taxed, and imported.

There’s laughter spilling out of an inconspicuous gutter

It makes you stop to think

It makes you kind of wonder

Just what goes on when you’re looking the other way

What’s outside of the words that we link.

Just what goes on behind closed doors.

What invisible wonders as re under your nose

I can’t sit still

dove sacchi di strane cianfrusaglie

E divertenti specchietti per la casa posano

E i gargoyle ballano

Dove cane mangia cane e i topi stanno vincendo la corsa

E la vita insegue la sua coda con la morte alle spalle

Ci sono risate che escono da una grondaia poco appariscente

Quali meraviglie invisibili ci sono sotto il tuo naso
