I witnessed the rise of the machines

An arduous path that has become a highway

Overwhelmed by the pace of progress

We surrendered to our own convenience

Mandatory and addictive, a screen in every hand

Dashing fingers, eyes dilated, wired to the bone

Torn apart and isolated, we walk side-by-side

All alone in the crowd, unrecognized

Awoken by the humming that dictates our life

We are no longer in control

Self-portrait of an existence that was never ours

On the verge of the shutdown

Ironic and systematic, a created cosmos

Betrayed by our own narcissism

Incomplete and crippled by the scourge of each others life

Insecure and sedated, caught inside our realm

We walk these bytes in search for happiness

Preoccupied and bound to our own demise

Awoken by the humming that dictates our life

We are no longer in control

Ho assistito all'ascesa delle macchine

Un percorso arduo che è diventato un'autostrada

Sopraffatto dal ritmo del progresso

Ci siamo arresi alla nostra comodità

Obbligatorio e avvincente, uno schermo in ogni mano

Dita scattanti, occhi dilatati, fissati all'osso

Dilaniati e isolati, camminiamo fianco a fianco

Tutto solo tra la folla, non riconosciuto

Risvegliato dal ronzio che detta la nostra vita

Non abbiamo più il controllo

Autoritratto di un'esistenza che non è mai stata nostra

Sull'orlo della chiusura

Ironico e sistematico, un cosmo creato

Tradito dal nostro stesso narcisismo

Incompleto e paralizzato dal flagello della vita dell'altro

Insicuro e sedato, catturato nel nostro regno

Percorriamo questi byte alla ricerca della felicità

Preoccupato e legato alla nostra stessa fine

Risvegliato dal ronzio che detta la nostra vita

Non abbiamo più il controllo
