I’m asking Jesus to keep me from being bitter

Bitterness can make a heart numb, but hope is like a star

You don’t see it shine bright until the dark come

So don’t just scoop the dust, remove the rug

If I got unforgiveness in my heart

Then there really ain’t no room for love

Plus it’s stupid cause, I’ve been so forgiven

That if I hold a grudge, I don’t show He’s risen,

But I know my sins removed since Jesus came

With no reason to forgive me, but He did, so I do the same

Sometimes things just happen in life that don’t make any sense

But bitterness is a choice

Plus I got some bitterness I wanna get up off me

Where should I start?

Well, I feel like I’d be sorta frontin' to say

When my father calls that I don’t hit ignore button

It’s probably cause we never kicked it at a younger age

I know when he’s calling but I don’t have got his number saved

I keep dodging him but I’m just being honest

All he wanna do is talk football and how I should play in college

I get bitter, kinda cold like the winter

It’s so hard for me to forgive him then I remember that I’m a sinner

And Jesus forgave me and washed away my sins

When I didn’t deserve it then I could forgive him

His power in such amazing love like

When Jesus forgave the ones that pinned him up on that cross

As he was hanging from it

Holy Spirit, teach me to be just like the Son

Remove the roots of bitterness

Don’t stop until your work is done

God I don’t wanna be bitter, teach me to forgive

Let me see my own sin

Sembra di essere stato preso a calci nella parte centrale

Vai a spassarsela su Twitter, arrabbiati e pubblicalo sui miei stati

L'amarezza può intorpidire il cuore, ma la speranza è come una stella

Non lo vedi brillare fino a quando non arriva il buio

Quindi non raccogliere solo la polvere, rimuovi il tappeto

Se ho la mancanza di perdono nel mio cuore

Allora non c'è davvero spazio per l'amore

Inoltre è una causa stupida, sono stato così perdonato

Che se ho rancore, non mostro che è risorto,

Ma so che i miei peccati sono stati rimossi da quando è venuto Gesù

Senza alcun motivo per perdonarmi, ma Lui lo ha fatto, quindi faccio lo stesso

A volte nella vita accadono cose che non hanno alcun senso

Ma l'amarezza è una scelta

Sì, devo andare piano

Non voglio essere un ipocrita

In più ho un po' di amarezza che voglio alzare da me

Da dove dovrei iniziare?

Bene, mi sento come se fossi in una sorta di frontin per dire

Quando mio padre chiama, non premo il pulsante Ignora

Probabilmente è perché non l'abbiamo mai preso a calci in giovane età

So quando sta chiamando ma non ho il suo numero salvato

Continuo a schivarlo ma sono solo onesto

Tutto quello che vuole fare è parlare di calcio e di come dovrei giocare al college

Divento amaro, un po' freddo come l'inverno

È così difficile per me perdonarlo poi mi ricordo che sono un peccatore

E Gesù mi perdonò e lavò i miei peccati

Quando non me lo meritavo, allora potevo perdonarlo

Il suo potere in un amore così straordinario come

Quando Gesù perdonò quelli che lo inchiodarono su quella croce

Mentre era appeso a esso

Spirito Santo, insegnami ad essere proprio come il Figlio

Rimuovi le radici dell'amarezza

Non fermarti finché il tuo lavoro non è finito

Dio, non voglio essere amareggiato, insegnami a perdonare

Fammi vedere il mio peccato
