Still Earth - Arborist

Time is only temporary,

But we waste our lives focusing on the future.

We are so concerned about what’s to come

That we are oblivious to what’s happening at this moment to those around us.

We expend every last second in constant worry of what will be next--

Of where we will go when our souls depart.

Will our footsteps leave an eternal mark?

But death catches us by surprise, and the ones we were supposed to love leave

this life.

The world ceases to turn as we pay our hypocritical respects,

Proclaiming that we cared so much and that the moments shared will always be

remembered,

But then we continue forward as if nothing ever happened.

And it makes me sick.

But I must admit, I’m just as guilty.

So when I’m buried in this still earth,

I hope that no one will remember.

Because that’s what I deserve.

Il tempo è solo temporaneo,

Ma sprechiamo le nostre vite concentrandoci sul futuro.

Siamo così preoccupati per ciò che verrà

Che siamo ignari di ciò che sta accadendo in questo momento a chi ci circonda.

Trascorriamo fino all'ultimo secondo nella costante preoccupazione di cosa accadrà dopo...

Di dove andremo quando le nostre anime se ne andranno.

I nostri passi lasceranno un segno eterno?

Ma la morte ci coglie di sorpresa e quelli che dovremmo amare se ne vanno

questa vita.

Il mondo smette di girare mentre possiamo i nostri ipocriti rispetti,

Proclamando che ci tenevamo così tanto e che i momenti condivisi lo saranno sempre

ricordato,

Ma poi continuiamo ad andare avanti come se non fosse mai successo niente.

E mi fa star male.

Ma devo ammettere che sono altrettanto colpevole.

Quindi quando sarò sepolto in questa terra immobile,

Spero che nessuno ricorderà.

Perché è quello che merito.
