Naivety isn’t bliss

And that’s why I’m waving a placard

Banning a bomb, righting a wrong

Or trying and being ignored

'cause if you want the pie in the sky

Well baby you’d better believe it

'cause the moon on a stick to the filthy and rich is another political puppet

And the left leaning liberals got lonely

Defending the rights of us all

Everyone else just looks selfish

Thinking of only a few

But we have all got our opinions

And we will all share them in time

Sometimes our opinions are different though

And that’s where the problems lie

But we all want to live, we all want to laugh

We all want to love and we all want to dance

So let’s put our problems aside

Spend an afternoon in the sunshine

I’m wearing my rose tinted glasses

Over my bleeding heart

Enjoying every moment of this wonderful life that I’ve got

Fooling myself that by singing my songs

I’m kind of doing my bit

But I’m as embarrassed as everyone else at the the size of my footprint

But I want to eat meat and I want to fly

I don’t want to feel guilty just for being alive

And I’ll work hard to keep my afternoon in the sunshine

It’s like an angry open letter and an online think piece

An out of tune folk song at an underattended protest

We’re all looking left and right as the world goes down the drain

Let’s think about the things that we agree on for a change

'cause we’re all skin and bones, we’re all flesh and blood

We all get lonely and we all need love

Deep down we are all the same

Just a human in a race

And we all want to live, we all want to laugh

We all want to love and we all want to dance

So let’s put our problems aside

O provare ed essere ignorati

perché se vuoi la torta in cielo

Beh, piccola, faresti meglio a crederci

perché la luna su un bastone per lo sporco e il ricco è un altro burattino politico

E i liberali di sinistra si sono sentiti soli

Difendere i diritti di noi tutti

Tutti gli altri sembrano solo egoisti

Pensando solo ad alcuni

Ma tutti abbiamo le nostre opinioni

E li condivideremo tutti in tempo

A volte però le nostre opinioni sono diverse

Ed è qui che risiedono i problemi

Ma tutti vogliamo vivere, tutti vogliamo ridere

Tutti vogliamo amare e tutti vogliamo ballare

Quindi mettiamo da parte i nostri problemi

Trascorri un pomeriggio al sole

Indosso i miei occhiali colorati di rosa

Sul mio cuore sanguinante

Mi godo ogni momento di questa meravigliosa vita che ho

Illudendomi che cantando le mie canzoni

In un certo senso sto facendo la mia parte

Ma sono imbarazzato come tutti gli altri per le dimensioni della mia impronta

Ma voglio mangiare carne e voglio volare

Non voglio sentirmi in colpa solo per essere vivo

E lavorerò sodo per mantenere il mio pomeriggio al sole

È come una lettera aperta arrabbiata e un articolo di riflessione online

Una canzone folk stonata durante una protesta poco frequentata

Stiamo tutti guardando a destra ea sinistra mentre il mondo va in malora

Pensiamo alle cose su cui concordiamo per cambiare

perché siamo tutti pelle e ossa, siamo tutti carne e sangue

Ci tutti ci sentiamo soli e tutti abbiamo bisogno di amore

In fondo siamo tutti uguali

Solo un umano in una corsa

E tutti noi vogliamo vivere, tutti vogliamo ridere

Tutti vogliamo amare e tutti vogliamo ballare

Quindi mettiamo da parte i nostri problemi
