I didn’t smell the coming snow

I didn’t hear the falling leaves

And now they’re rotting underneath

How was I to have a clue?

You didn’t tell me they were new, no I didn’t kneel upon the pew

And now it’s hard to tell the truth

Come avrei dovuto saperlo?

Non mi avevi detto che erano d'oro

Non ho sentito l'odore della neve in arrivo

E ora sono rovinati dal freddo

Come avrei dovuto condividere?

Non mi avevi detto che erano corretti

Non li ho visti andare di riserva

E ora sono sepolti laggiù

Come avrei dovuto vedere?

Non ho sentito le foglie che cadevano

E ora stanno marcendo sotto

Come potevo avere un indizio?
