Growin' up I’ve seen a lot of things in life

But through it all, I’m just blessed to be alive man

Now I’ve been ridin' down these roads lookin' for some peace of mind

Steady thinkin' 'bout my future and what would take for me to shine

Trust in no one but my family and my dogs that’s ridin' with me

Now these times are lookin' hard and the road is lookin' bumpy

Grew up with a mom and dad who gave me a place I could call my own

Tryin' to get my soul in check 'cause dog we livin' in evil days

Momma told me watch the boys 'cause most the boys got evil ways

That’s why lately I’ve been solo 'cause nowadays they be on them no-no's

One day they show you love then the next day they would gossip like homos

It is what it is I guess, you make mistakes, you live and learn

Things don’t come on a silver platter, 'cause in this life good things are

earned

We was taught to work hard, ain’t had no time for slack

Show love to our brothers and sisters and give the shirts off our backs

I tried to stay in church, Lord knows I’m far from perfect

I know God’s got a purpose, he didn’t send me to be worthless

Used to always wonder if I’d ever meet the dreams I had

Before the mics and the keyboards all we had was tape recorders

Dropped out of school at eighteen we wasn’t good at takin' orders

Everybody was doin' their work while me and my brother was makin' beats

Now that I’m in music seem like nobody want to see me shine

I learned that friends come and go but family lasts a lifetime

People tried to bring me down, but they failed dog and I’m still standin'

Ma nonostante tutto, sono solo fortunato ad essere un uomo vivo

Ora ho guidato per queste strade in cerca di un po' di tranquillità

Crescendo non avevo tutto ma ringrazio Dio di averne in abbondanza

Ventidue, sì, è una benedizione, perché Big Matt non avrebbe dovuto vedere

La vita tra i bastoni era tutto ciò che so, direttamente dallo strappo, ecco dove io

chiamato a casa

Sono cresciuto con una mamma e un papà che mi hanno dato un posto che potrei chiamare mio

Sto cercando di controllare la mia anima perché il cane che viviamo nei giorni malvagi

La mamma mi ha detto guarda i ragazzi perché la maggior parte dei ragazzi ha modi malvagi

Ecco perché ultimamente sono stato da solo perché al giorno d'oggi sono su di loro no-no

Un giorno ti mostrano che ami, poi il giorno dopo spettegolano come omosessuali

È ciò che credo, commetti errori, vivi e impari

Le cose non vengono su un piatto d'argento, perché in questa vita le cose buone lo sono

guadagnato

Ci è stato insegnato a lavorare sodo, non abbiamo avuto tempo per perdere tempo

Mostra amore ai nostri fratelli e sorelle e togli le magliette di dosso

Ho cercato di rimanere in chiesa, Dio sa che sono tutt'altro che perfetto

So che Dio ha uno scopo, non mi ha mandato per essere inutile

Tutti facevano il loro lavoro mentre io e mio fratello suonavamo

Ora che sono nella musica sembra che nessuno voglia vedermi brillare

Ma non è niente per me, lo dico a tutti coloro che odiano di stare al passo con i tuoi simili

Nel frattempo, quei ragazzi non lo mantengono reale, adorano semplicemente essere davanti

Ho imparato che gli amici vanno e vengono, ma la famiglia dura una vita

La mia anima è piena di ferite ecco perché prendo la penna e scrivo rime

Abbiamo lasciato un paio di tracce, la prossima cosa che sai, erano tutte impegnative

Le persone hanno cercato di abbattermi, ma hanno fallito e io sono ancora in piedi
