There’s a line that is drawn through the ages

On line stands an old rugged cross

On that cross a battle is raging to gain a man’s soul or its loss

On one side marks the forces of evil

All the demons and all the devils of hell

On the other the angels of glory

And they meet on Golgotha’s hill

The earth shakes with the force of the conflict

And the sun refuses to shine

For there hangs God’s son in the balance

And then through the darkness he cries

Yet in my heart the battle was still raging

Not all prisoners of war had come home

These were battlefields of my own making

See, I didn’t know that the war had been won

But then I heard that the king of the ages had fought all the battles for me

And victory was mine for the claiming and now praise His name I am free

C'è una linea che viene tracciata attraverso i secoli

In linea c'è una vecchia croce robusta

Su quella croce infuria una battaglia per guadagnare l'anima di un uomo o la sua perdita

Da un lato segna le forze del male

Tutti i demoni e tutti i diavoli dell'inferno

Dall'altro gli angeli della gloria

E si incontrano sulla collina del Golgota

La terra trema con la forza del conflitto

E il sole si rifiuta di splendere

Perché lì è appeso il figlio di Dio in bilico

E poi attraverso l'oscurità piange

Eppure nel mio cuore la battaglia era ancora in corso

Non tutti i prigionieri di guerra erano tornati a casa

Questi erano campi di battaglia di mia creazione

Vedi, non sapevo che la guerra fosse stata vinta

Ma poi ho sentito che il re dei secoli aveva combattuto tutte le battaglie per me

E la vittoria è stata mia per la pretesa e ora lodo il suo nome sono libero
