Salt on a Slug - Black Flag

I poured salt on a large slug.

I watched how the slug writhed and squirmed.

It tried to escape me and my burning salt.

The slug made no sound.

But I’m sure if I were turned inside out and dipped in salt, I would scream.

I remember how the slug glistened and resperated…

Until I put the salt on it.

And how it tried to get away secreting a yellowish green mucus

In great quantities that bubbled slightly.

My fascination turned to revolution as the slug writhed and tossed from side to

side

Secreting even more yellow green mucus to try and beat the salt.

It was a losing battle for the slug.

'Cause when it had succeeded in rubbing some of the salt off with great effort

I would simply turn the salt shaker on the slug again and start over.

Eventually I got bored and left the slug still writhing in vain

Trying to get free of the salt that eventually sucked the slug dry.

Later I imagined that my whole body was a tongue and I was dipped in salt…

Ho versato il sale su una grande lumaca.

Ho osservato come la lumaca si contorceva e si contorceva.

Ha cercato di sfuggire a me e al mio sale ardente.

La lumaca non emetteva alcun suono.

Ma sono sicuro che se fossi rovesciato e immerso nel sale, urlerei.

Ricordo come la lumaca luccicava e si ripeteva...

Fino a quando non ci metto sopra il sale.

E come ha cercato di scappare secernendo un muco verde giallastro

In grandi quantità che bollivano leggermente.

Il mio fascino si trasformò in rivoluzione mentre la lumaca si contorceva e si agitava da un lato all'altro

lato

Secernendo ancora più muco giallo verde per cercare di battere il sale.

È stata una battaglia persa per la lumaca.

Perché quando era riuscito a sfregare un po' del sale con grande sforzo

Vorrei semplicemente girare di nuovo la saliera sulla lumaca e ricominciare da capo.

Alla fine mi sono annoiato e ho lasciato la lumaca che si contorceva ancora invano

Cercando di liberarsi dal sale che alla fine ha risucchiato la lumaca.

Più tardi ho immaginato che tutto il mio corpo fosse una lingua e mi sono immerso nel sale...
