I signed a lease on a place near the bus stop but then I haven’t left the place

since

I got 3 TVs and a bunch of coffee pots, there’s just no reason to go out no more

I ain’t gonna get up this morning

And I’m never gonna throw anything away again

Time’ll come when I’m gonna need all of it

And I’m sure not getting out of bed today

If anybody stops by I’ll cut out all the lights

And hide in the can until they go away

I got 5 phones but none of em is hooked up

And I wouldn’t answer them if they were

I ain’t gonna get up this morning

And I’m never gonna throw anything away again

Time’ll come when I’m gonna need all of it

And I’m sure not getting out of bed today

I got a broken lamp with a broken shade

Got a broken mower with a rusty blade

Pizza boxes piled to the roof

Newspapers from 1982

Busted toasters I found in the trash

Picture frames with broken glass

Family photos of people I don’t know

Dried up plants that’ll never grow

I just can’t let it go

There’s a ‘72 Datsun where the guest bed was

I guess that means you ain’t spending the night

The landlord stops by but he seems real confused

I think he’s trying to throw me out

I ain’t gonna get up this morning

And I’m never gonna throw anything away again

Time’ll come when I’m gonna need all of it

And I’m sure not getting out of bed today

There’s a radio in every room, they’re all tuned to the news

I keep myself very well informed

The county’s coming by, to clean out all my stuff

And make me live with a roommate in Peaceful Valley

So I barricaded the door and covered up all the windows

And made a blanket fort behind the fridge

I ain’t gonna get up this morning

And I’m never gonna throw anything away again

Time’ll come when I’m gonna need all of it

And I’m sure not getting out of bed today

Se qualcuno si ferma, spengo tutte le luci

E nasconditi nella lattina finché non se ne vanno

Ho 5 telefoni ma nessuno è collegato

E non risponderei loro se lo fossero

E sono sicuro di non alzarmi dal letto oggi

Ho una lampada rotta con un paralume rotto

Ho un tosaerba rotto con una lama arrugginita

Scatole della pizza ammucchiate fino al tetto

Giornali dal 1982

Tostapane rotti che ho trovato nella spazzatura

Cornici con vetri rotti

Foto di famiglia di persone che non conosco

Piante prosciugate che non cresceranno mai

Non riesco a lasciarlo andare

C'è una Datsun del '72 dove c'era il letto degli ospiti

Immagino che questo significhi che non passerai la notte

Il padrone di casa si ferma ma sembra davvero confuso

Penso che stia cercando di buttarmi fuori

Non ho intenzione di alzarmi questa mattina

E non getterò mai più nulla

Verrà il momento in cui avrò bisogno di tutto

E sono sicuro di non alzarmi dal letto oggi

C'è una radio in ogni stanza, sono tutti sintonizzati sulle notizie

Mi tengo molto ben informato

La contea sta arrivando, per pulire tutte le mie cose

E fammi vivere con un coinquilino a Peaceful Valley

Così ho barricato la porta e ho coperto tutte le finestre

E ho fatto un fortino coperto dietro il frigorifero
