You know there are times in life when/

You come across people that you think are your friends/

But really, they’re your friend because it’s convenient/

And you have something that they want/

It’s sad man… but the best thing I’ve learned you can do/

In that situation, is try to forgive them/

Pack your bags and just move on/

Yeah, our hearts were nearly broken, by the people that we trusted most when

They took us in, became our friends, then forgot us in the middle of the ocean

All alone and stranded, on a boat abandoned, and I’m still

Tryin' to, figure out what the heck just happened, I don’t really have an

answer granted

We were open handed, full of hopeful standards, but that was a weakness

Let our guards down for a season, but I’ll never do it again cause that damage

Was too great, it’s too late, this new day, is two-faced/

It made us panic, throw away everything that we built up and vanish

We had to get away get safe, get our own place with a bit of breathing space

And even though we escaped, there’s still a bunch of wounds underneath this

bandage

We left feelin' disenchanted but then this plane landed with God commandin'

So we say goodbye layin' eyes on this new chapter with a brand new canvas

Things were rocky, I was afraid to crash and die

I’ve been up and down, and swayed from side to side

If there’s any chance can you save me from the fire?

Here comes the turbulence

The sky was gray and formin', a little bit of what I call stormin'

Early mornin' pourin' down, so morbid now this rain is horrid

Plus I’m foreign, to the way things, should be handled when things change

But they did now I’m livin' with it just prayin' we maintain orbit cuz I’m

10,000 feet up, way up high, feelin' pretty beat up, enough

Time to clean up these deep cuts fighting the lie that you don’t really needs us

Because we lust and bleed just like everyone alive are you also gonna leave us?

Flee us, out of disgust like refugees but I really wanted you to lead us

Turbulence can be violent, when you travel through an unknown climate

I should trust you, but I’m unglued not really knowin' what you’re up to flyin'

Over highlands, over islands, what’s the mileage?

I can’t even see the ground

So I close my eye-lids, growin' silent, hopin' I live, oh my God I need you now

Sì, i nostri cuori erano quasi spezzati, dalle persone di cui ci fidavamo di più quando

Ci hanno accolti, sono diventati nostri amici, poi ci hanno dimenticato in mezzo all'oceano

Tutto solo e bloccato, su una barca abbandonata, e sono fermo

Cercando di capire cosa diavolo è appena successo, non ne ho davvero una

risposta scontata

Eravamo aperti, pieni di standard ottimistici, ma quella era una debolezza

Abbassiamo la guardia per una stagione, ma non lo farò mai di nuovo per causare quel danno

Era troppo bello, è troppo tardi, questo nuovo giorno ha due facce/

Ci ha fatto prendere dal panico, buttare via tutto ciò che avevamo costruito e svanire

Dovevamo andare via, metterci al sicuro, trovare un posto tutto nostro con un po' di respiro

E anche se siamo scappati, c'è ancora un mucchio di ferite sotto questo

Ci siamo sentiti disincantati, ma poi questo aereo è atterrato con il comando di Dio

Quindi diciamo addio posando gli occhi su questo nuovo capitolo con una tela nuova di zecca

Le cose erano difficili, avevo paura di schiantarmi e morire

Sono stato su e giù e ho oscillato da una parte all'altra

Invia un mayday, perché stiamo cadendo dal cielo

Se c'è qualche possibilità, puoi salvarmi dal fuoco?

Ecco che arriva la turbolenza

Il cielo era grigio e si stava formando, un po' di ciò che io chiamo stormin'

La mattina presto piove a dirotto, così morbosa ora che questa pioggia è orribile

Inoltre sono estraneo al modo in cui le cose dovrebbero essere gestite quando le cose cambiano

Ma l'hanno fatto ora ci sto vivendo solo pregando che manteniamo l'orbita perché lo sono

10.000 piedi più in alto, molto in alto, mi sento abbastanza malconcio, basta

È ora di ripulire questi tagli profondi combattendo la bugia che non hai davvero bisogno di noi

Poiché noi desideriamo e sanguiniamo proprio come tutti i vivi, ci lascerai anche tu?

Fuggi da noi, per disgusto come profughi, ma volevo davvero che tu ci guidassi

La turbolenza può essere violenta, quando viaggi attraverso un clima sconosciuto

Dovrei fidarmi di te, ma non so davvero cosa stai facendo per volare

Sugli altopiani, sulle isole, qual è il chilometraggio?

Non riesco nemmeno a vedere il terreno

Quindi chiudo le palpebre, diventando silenzioso, sperando di vivere, oh mio Dio, ho bisogno di te ora
