He was just a carpenter by trade.

He learned from his father at a very early age.

There was something special in the man,

there was much more to his life

than just working with his hands

and He’d say There’s no home I could design that would match the one you’d find,

when you leave this world behind, if you only took the time.

Love your neighbour like your brother

treat your brother like a friend

always turn the other cheek

help the weary and the weak

make the time for young and old

and as your life unfolds

each kindness that you’ve shown

will be the nails and hammers

as you build your final ladder

in the manner of the carpenter of old

only fools that hurt him did not realize

That he was speaking to us all

the righteous and the mighty

the silent and the small

Ha imparato da suo padre in tenera età.

C'era qualcosa di speciale nell'uomo,

c'era molto di più nella sua vita

piuttosto che lavorare con le sue mani

e lui diceva che non c'è casa che potrei progettare che corrisponda a quella che avresti trovato,

quando ti lasci alle spalle questo mondo, se solo ti prendessi il tempo.

Ama il tuo prossimo come tuo fratello

tratta tuo fratello come un amico

porgere sempre l'altra guancia

aiuta gli stanchi e i deboli

trova il tempo per grandi e piccini

e mentre la tua vita si svolge

ogni gentilezza che hai mostrato

saranno i chiodi e i martelli

mentre costruisci la tua scala finale

alla maniera del falegname di un tempo

Lo ha costruito abbastanza largo da coprire l'inferno furia furiosa al di sotto

Sapeva che sarei scivolato, quindi ce l'ha fatta a non salire

Perché divento debole e mi stanco

Ha creato un modo per farmi riposare di tanto in tanto lungo la strada
