You go to school to get the job

To pay the bills and still be robbed of

The one thing that matters most

Your soul becomes more like a ghost,

A figment of your crying, dying imagination.

And as the years grow, you get attached

To your safe little nest and the eggs you’ve hatched

And the world seems so much smaller now

All sense of adventure is fading out, because

You already know your destination.

But the thing you’re bound to discover,

The one mystery I feel must be uncovered,

Cuts deeper than the sharpest of knives

'Cuz it shows that your truth is made up of lies,

A mirage made solely to hold you.

But right now, we can make a step

Towards something more then our next paycheck

And vow to follow one great rule,

One great motto, one great mantra or tool

Which is above all else, to ourselves be true.

Vai a scuola per ottenere il lavoro

Per pagare le bollette ed essere ancora derubati

L'unica cosa che conta di più

La tua anima diventa più simile a un fantasma,

Un frutto della tua immaginazione che piange e muore.

E man mano che gli anni crescono, ti affezioni

Al tuo nido sicuro e alle uova che hai schiuso

E il mondo sembra così molto più piccolo ora

Ogni senso di avventura sta svanendo, perché

Conosci già la tua destinazione.

Ma la cosa che sei destinato a scoprire,

L'unico mistero che sento deve essere svelato,

Tagli più in profondità dei coltelli più affilati

Perché mostra che la tua verità è fatta di bugie,

Un miraggio fatto esclusivamente per trattenerti.

Ma in questo momento, possiamo fare un passo

Verso qualcosa di più del nostro prossimo stipendio

E giura di seguire una grande regola,

Un grande motto, un grande mantra o strumento

Il che è soprattutto, per noi stessi.
