Compassion - Death Is Not Glamorous

This isn’t culture, it’s an industry,

living creatures, barely alive, chaines up in factories.

And you can tell yourself that you do enough to warrant a slip from time to

time,

but your conscience knows better and you know it tastes wrong, so open your

eyes.

Born into this mess, and they painted us a prettier picture,

we swallow everything we’re fed, the food, the lies and the fiction.

But we don’t have to live by history books, we can write and illustrate our own.

Just realize that every meal is a choice, and you only reap what you have shown.

And yet they call it culture, millions slaughtered by the day.

And it’s easy to just not care when you’re 1000 miles away.

But think twice next time it’s on your plate;

environmental repercussions, a higher taste.

Born and raised in a fucking cage,

how can we keep making this mistake?

So many reasons, the list is so long.

All this cruelty in our lives, it just feels wrong.

There’s a better way, so much more than just fashion.

A better diet for a more caring world, one word… Compassion.

You say you care, I say you’re scared… Prove me wrong!

Questa non è cultura, è un'industria,

creature viventi, a malapena vive, incatenate nelle fabbriche.

E puoi dire a te stesso che fai abbastanza per giustificare un errore di tanto in tanto

tempo,

ma la tua coscienza sa meglio e sai che ha un sapore sbagliato, quindi apri il tuo

occhi.

Sono nati in questo pasticcio e ci hanno dipinto un quadro più bello,

inghiottiamo tutto ciò che ci viene dato da mangiare, il cibo, le bugie e la finzione.

Ma non dobbiamo vivere seguendo i libri di storia, possiamo scrivere e illustrare i nostri.

Renditi conto che ogni pasto è una scelta e raccogli solo ciò che hai mostrato.

Eppure la chiamano cultura, milioni di persone massacrate ogni giorno.

Ed è facile non interessarti quando sei a 1000 miglia di distanza.

Ma pensaci due volte la prossima volta che è nel tuo piatto;

ripercussioni ambientali, un gusto più alto.

Nato e cresciuto in una fottuta gabbia,

come possiamo continuare a commettere questo errore?

Tante ragioni, l'elenco è così lungo.

Tutta questa crudeltà nelle nostre vite, sembra semplicemente sbagliata.

C'è un modo migliore, molto più della semplice moda.

Una dieta migliore per un mondo più premuroso, una parola... Compassione.

Dici che ci tieni, io dico che hai paura... Dimostrami che mi sbaglio!
