Mother see, that all my life

I planted flowers to survive

And as they faded I stopped to speak

I painted flowers

And nobody knows why…

No awakening, no lullaby

I only felt the need to try

To have the guts or the stupidity

To grab for stars, that I can’t reach at all

Father see, that I have tried

To find that angel deep inside

That you once promised I would meet

And once again I ended in defeat

Even here I could feel your eyes

Heard your whispers and felt your lies

Brother said «Come back to life»

I asked some friends

And nobody knew why …

Nobody had ever seen

My flood of tears

I can’t believe you found me here

It took some time to find these words

I wrote them down in hope that they might help

Watch me walk barefoot on glass

Insecure as only a newborn child can be

Others came to laugh at me

They pointed fingers as I could see

Believe me saying it’s not the skin

It’s the stranger living deep inside

Mother see, that all my life

Father see, that I have tried

To build a world with only me inside

Millions of flowers surround my bed

Now I still grab for stars and I can reach them all

Mamma, vedi, per tutta la mia vita

Ho piantato fiori per sopravvivere

E mentre svaniscono, ho smesso di parlare

Ho dipinto fiori

E nessuno sa perché...

Nessun risveglio, nessuna ninna nanna

Ho solo sentito il bisogno di provare

Avere il coraggio o la stupidità

Per afferrare le stelle, che non riesco a raggiungere

Padre, vedi, che ci ho provato

Per trovare quell'angelo nel profondo

Che una volta avevi promesso che ti avrei incontrato

E ancora una volta sono finito con una sconfitta

Anche qui potevo sentire i tuoi occhi

Ho sentito i tuoi sussurri e sentito le tue bugie

Il fratello disse: «Torna in vita»

Ho chiesto ad alcuni amici

E nessuno sapeva perché...

Nessuno aveva mai visto

Il mio flusso di lacrime

Non posso credere che mi hai trovato qui

Ci è voluto del tempo per trovare queste parole

Li ho scritti nella speranza che potessero aiutare

Guardami camminare a piedi nudi sul vetro

Insicuro come solo un neonato può essere

Altri sono venuti a ridere di me

Hanno puntato il dito come ho potuto vedere

Credimi dicendo che non è la pelle

È lo sconosciuto che vive nel profondo

Mamma, vedi, per tutta la mia vita

Ho dipinto fiori per sopravvivere

E mentre sbiadivano, ho smesso di dipingere

Mi sono addormentato

E nessuno sa perché...

Padre, vedi, che ci ho provato

Per costruire un mondo con solo me dentro

Milioni di fiori circondano il mio letto

Ora afferro ancora le stelle e posso raggiungerle tutte
