Sword Chant - Ensiferum

With furious lightning it fell into the hands of man

And the ancient fire came down

Down from the sky into the ground

The clouds moved aside as the sword was cast from the sky

Burnt by a mark of fire, who shall make this find

And the grey clouds were watching down, down from the sky into the ground

…As the shapes of light were drowned

(II:) Creatures started crawling from the ashes and smoke

And the night was cursed and drifting within the winds so cold

And the knights from the sea were marching down

To the deep caverns down, down where the old spells are found

The war was growing in the old lands and towns

From the mountains war drums pounded with a deafening sound

They’ll seek the Sword forevermore, until in battle they’ll fall

…Now, hear the battle’s call

Who dares to play with death

Who smells the dragon’s breath

No grief for the fallen ones

The search for the sword has begun

Great as the mountains and seas

Grim as the earth and old trees

Made from the glimmer of golden lakes

Chained with fire that never fades

Rocks and stones they carve and mould

When the rivers run fierce and cold

May this chant haunt your past

For this Sword is yours at last

Raise the arms the battle is near

Through the mud and waters clear

The blood is coloring the lands again

A sign of victory the wind will send

Con un lampo furioso cadde nelle mani dell'uomo

E l'antico fuoco scese

Giù dal cielo nella terra

Le nuvole si spostarono mentre la spada veniva lanciata dal cielo

Bruciato da un segno di fuoco, chi farà questo ritrovamento

E le nuvole grigie stavano guardando giù, giù dal cielo fino alla terra

...Mentre le forme della luce venivano affogate

(II:) Le creature iniziarono a strisciare dalle ceneri e dal fumo

E la notte era maledetta e fluttuava nel vento così freddo

E i cavalieri del mare stavano scendendo

Nelle profonde caverne in basso, in basso dove si trovano i vecchi incantesimi

La guerra stava crescendo nelle vecchie terre e città

Dalle montagne i tamburi di guerra risuonavano con un suono assordante

Cercheranno la Spada per sempre, finché in battaglia non cadranno

...Ora, ascolta il richiamo della battaglia

Chi osa giocare con la morte

Chi annusa il respiro del drago

Nessun dolore per i caduti

La ricerca della spada è iniziata

Triste come la terra e gli alberi secolari

Fatto dal luccichio di laghi dorati

Incatenato con un fuoco che non svanisce mai

Rocce e pietre che scolpiscono e modellano

Quando i fiumi scorrono feroci e freddi

Possa questo canto perseguitare il tuo passato

Perché questa spada è finalmente tua

Alza le braccia, la battaglia è vicina

Attraverso il fango e le acque limpide

Il sangue sta colorando di nuovo le terre

Un segno di vittoria manderà il vento
