Les Carter: It’s on already

FZ: Oh, I can’t hear it.

Can I hear it while I’m doing this?

Les Carter: No way for you to hear it, Frank, you just have to.

Les Carter: Okay

FZ: Well.

Les Carter: Okay, we’re gonna start that again

FZ: Here we go.

Les Carter: Okay, I think it’s about ready to start, Frank, if you’re ready

FZ:

RUBEN SANO was 19 when he quit the group to work on his car.

He had just saved

up enough money to buy a 53 Nash and four gallons of gray primer.

His girl friend said she would leave him forever if he didn’t quit playing in

the band and fix up his car so they could go to the drive-in and make out.

There was already 11 other guys in the band so when he quit nobody missed him

except for his car when they had to go to rehearsal or play for a battle of the

bands at the American Legion Post in Chino.

They are all still good friends

even today.

The other main guys in the band: NATCHO, LOUIE, PANA & CHUY still

come over to RUBEN’S house on Tuesday or Wednesday to listen to his collection

of Richie Valens records & also «Eddie My Love».

Generally speaking, they save «Cherry Pie» & «Work With Me Annie» till the late part of the evening so they

can have something to hum on the way home or to Burger Lane.

Some of them

continue to hum & pop their fingers even the next day, working in the car wash.

Now that they have gotten their big break in show business each one of the

main guys in the group voted at the band meeting to keep the name RUBEN on the

JETS not only because it sounds real fine & gives it class, but also because it

makes it real sharp.

RUBEN even likes it too & thinks it is real sharp.

All the guys in the band hope that you are sick & tired like they are of all

this crazy far out music some of the bands of today are playing.

They hope you are so sick & tired of it that you are ready for their real

sharp style of music.

They are good socially acceptable young men who only want

to sing about their girl friends.

They want everybody to start dancing close

back together again like 1955 because they know that people need to love & also

want to hold on to each other.

Even holding hands is okay to them.

They want you to hold hands and dance the bop & fall in love to their music.

One of the main guys in the band was telling me a couple of weeks ago when we

were talking about how about only half the guys in the band ever show up at

rehearsals most of the time.

FZ:

RUBEN SANO aveva 19 anni quando lasciò il gruppo per lavorare alla sua auto.

Aveva appena salvato

abbastanza soldi per comprare un 53 Nash e quattro galloni di primer grigio.

La sua ragazza ha detto che lo avrebbe lasciato per sempre se non avesse smesso di recitare

la band e aggiustare la sua macchina in modo che potessero andare al drive-in e pomiciare.

C'erano già altri 11 ragazzi nella band, quindi quando ha lasciato nessuno lo ha mancato

fatta eccezione per la sua macchina quando dovevano andare alle prove o suonare per una battaglia del

band all'American Legion Post in Chino.

Sono ancora tutti buoni amici

anche oggi.

Gli altri ragazzi principali della band: NATCHO, LOUIE, PANA e CHUY ancora

vieni a casa di RUBEN martedì o mercoledì per ascoltare la sua collezione

dei dischi di Richie Valens e anche di «Eddie My Love».

In generale, conservano «Cherry Pie» e «Work With Me Annie» fino a tarda serata, quindi

può avere qualcosa da canticchiare sulla strada di casa o a Burger Lane.

Alcuni di quelli

continuano a canticchiare e schioccare le dita anche il giorno successivo, lavorando nell'autolavaggio.

Ora che hanno ottenuto la loro grande occasione nel mondo dello spettacolo, ognuno dei

i ragazzi principali del gruppo hanno votato alla riunione della band per mantenere il nome RUBEN sul

JETS non solo perché suona davvero bene e gli conferisce classe, ma anche perché lo è

lo rende davvero nitido.

Anche a RUBEN piace e pensa che sia davvero nitido.

Tutti i ragazzi della band sperano che tu sia malato e stanco come loro

questa pazza musica lontana suonano alcune delle band di oggi.

Sperano che tu sia così malato e stanco di questo che tu sia pronto per il loro vero

stile musicale nitido.

Sono bravi ragazzi socialmente accettabili che vogliono solo

a cantare delle loro amiche.

Vogliono che tutti inizino a ballare vicino

di nuovo insieme come nel 1955 perché sanno che le persone hanno bisogno di amare e anche

vogliono tenersi l'un l'altro.

Anche tenersi per mano va bene per loro.

Vogliono che ti tieni per mano e balli il bop e ti innamori della loro musica.

Uno dei ragazzi principali della band me lo diceva un paio di settimane fa, quando noi

parlavano di come solo la metà dei ragazzi della band si sia mai presentata

prove la maggior parte del tempo.
