My good friend tells me to be wise,

I say why bother, you know.

I cannot find what’s wrong or right.

To me they’re all in disguise.

And their disguises look so good,

I cannot find what’s true or false.

That makes no difference to my friend,

He will stand by me, and this he tells me:

This life is just for living, I can’t tell you what it’ll bring.

There are good times, there are hard times

There are reasons why we cling to what we want to be What we want to see

My good friend tells me to be smart,

I say why bother, you know.

I cannot find what’s mind or heart.

To me they kind of look the same.

And when he shows me all the lies,

I tell him to go to the devil.

That makes no difference to my friend,

He will stand by me, and this he tells me:

«This life is just for living, I can’t tell you what it’ll bring

There are good times, there are hard times

There are reasons why we cling to what we want to be What we want to see

But when he’s gone,

Who’s to hold me?

Who’s to call me?

Who’s to make me rise again?

Make me smile and then,

Il mio buon amico mi dice di essere saggio,

Dico perché preoccuparsi, lo sai.

Non riesco a trovare ciò che è sbagliato o giusto.

Per me sono tutti travestiti.

E i loro travestimenti sembrano così belli,

Non riesco a trovare ciò che è vero o falso.

Questo non fa differenza per il mio amico,

Mi starà accanto, e questo mi dice:

Questa vita è solo per vivere, non posso dirti cosa porterà.

Ci sono momenti belli, ci sono momenti difficili

Ci sono ragioni per cui ci aggrappiamo a ciò che vogliamo essere ciò che vogliamo vedere

Il mio buon amico mi dice di essere intelligente,

Dico perché preoccuparsi, lo sai.

Non riesco a trovare cosa sia la mente o il cuore.

Per me sembrano lo stesso.

E quando mi mostra tutte le bugie,

Gli dico di andare al diavolo.

Questo non fa differenza per il mio amico,

Mi starà accanto, e questo mi dice:

Chi deve tenermi?

Chi deve chiamarmi?

Chi deve farmi risorgere?

Fammi sorridere e poi

Chi deve dirmi:

Questa vita è solo per vivere

Non posso dirti cosa porterà

Ci sono momenti belli, ci sono momenti difficili

Ci sono ragioni per cui ci aggrappiamo a ciò che vogliamo essere e a ciò che vogliamo vedere
