Divided and conquered

Hey sharpshooter, good shot!

It’s probably the worst instant human toll of any crime, and that may be true,

but there are terrorist crimes with effects a bit more drawn out that are much

more extreme.

Nevertheless it’s a historic event 'cause there was a change.

The change was the direction in which the guns were pointed.

During these

close to 200 years the United States expelled or mostly exterminated the

indigenous populations… however many people;

conquered half of Mexico,

carried out depredations all over the region, Central America, sometimes

beyond;

conquered Hawaii and the Philippines, killing several hundred thousand

Filipinos in the process;

since the Second World War it’s extended its reach

around the world in ways I don’t have to describe.

But it was always killing

someone else.

The fighting was somewhere else.

It was others getting

slaughtered, not here

È probabilmente il peggior bilancio umano istantaneo di qualsiasi crimine, e potrebbe essere vero,

ma ci sono crimini terroristici con effetti un po' più estesi che sono molti

più estremo.

Tuttavia è un evento storico perché c'è stato un cambiamento.

Il cambiamento è stato la direzione in cui erano puntate le pistole.

Durante questi

vicino a 200 anni gli Stati Uniti hanno espulso o per lo più sterminato il

popolazioni indigene… comunque molte persone;

conquistò metà del Messico,

ha effettuato depredazioni in tutta la regione, a volte in America centrale

al di là;

conquistò le Hawaii e le Filippine, uccidendo diverse centinaia di migliaia

filippini nel processo;

dalla seconda guerra mondiale ha esteso la sua portata

in tutto il mondo in modi che non devo descrivere.

Ma era sempre omicida

qualcun altro.

Il combattimento era altrove.

Sono stati gli altri a riceverlo

massacrato, non qui
