One Quiet Moment - Glad

One quiet moment, on a star-clustered night,

Two weary travelers knew an end was in sight;

So the soon to be mother, grasped her husband’s strong hand,

And paused to remember where the journey began.

Nine months of yearning filled with joy and with pain;

He almost had left her, but then chose to remain

Close by the woman he had not even kissed,

Who would bear him a son that would never be his.

And in one quiet moment, a woman and man

Accepted the part they would have in God’s plan;

To give up His glory, and be born as a man.

In one quiet moment.. .

They dreamed of the days they would spend with their son,

Taking walks through the hillsides and watching Him run.

And some days the fingers that had fashioned the stars,

Would reach out to hold them when the walk was too far.

They wrestled with knowing that His life would bring change;

Friends would grow distant, and shun them as strange.

Though they tried not to think it, in their hearts they were sure,

That their baby was destined to die for the world.

And in one quiet moment, a woman and man

Accepted the part they would have in God’s plan;

To give up His glory, and be born as a man.

In one quiet moment.. .

One quiet moment they could suddenly hear

Thousands of angels singing so clear;

«Glory to God, His Salvation is near!»

Un momento tranquillo, in una notte stellata,

Due viaggiatori stanchi sapevano che era in vista una fine;

Così la futura madre, afferrò la forte mano di suo marito,

E si è fermato per ricordare dove è iniziato il viaggio.

Nove mesi di nostalgia pieni di gioia e di dolore;

L'aveva quasi lasciata, ma poi ha scelto di rimanere

Vicino alla donna che non aveva nemmeno baciato,

Chi gli avrebbe dato un figlio che non sarebbe mai stato suo.

E in un momento tranquillo, una donna e un uomo

Accettato la parte che avrebbero avuto nel piano di Dio;

Rinunciare alla Sua gloria e rinascere come uomo.

In un momento tranquillo...

Sognavano i giorni che avrebbero trascorso con loro figlio,

Facendo passeggiate attraverso le colline e guardandolo correre.

E alcuni giorni le dita che avevano modellato le stelle,

Avrebbe allungato la mano per tenerli quando la camminata era troppo lunga.

Hanno lottato per sapere che la Sua vita avrebbe portato un cambiamento;

Gli amici si allontaneranno e li eviteranno come strani.

Anche se cercavano di non pensarlo, in cuor loro erano sicuri,

Che il loro bambino era destinato a morire per il mondo.

E in un momento tranquillo, una donna e un uomo

Accettato la parte che avrebbero avuto nel piano di Dio;

Rinunciare alla Sua gloria e rinascere come uomo.

In un momento tranquillo...

Un momento tranquillo che potevano improvvisamente sentire

Migliaia di angeli cantano così chiaramente;

«Gloria a Dio, la sua salvezza è vicina!»
