We were drivin in the country woods and we didn’t know why we were there.

Well maybe we were runnin from the big city or maybe we were runnin to the

mountain air.

And then we came upon a cabin of a diner and oh, how they did stare.

I said «Hey…

what’s the quickest way to your Motel 6, out in these sticks?»

Said «Hey…

we’re feelin kinda weary, we been drivin all day and we need a place to stay.»

Well I was sittin on the therapist couch and I didn’t know why I was there.

Well maybe I was runnin from the big issues or maybe I was runnin to a listenin

ear.

And then I came upon a maze of emotion and oh, how I did fear.

I said, «Hey…

what’s the quickest way out of this mess to that happiness?»

Said «Hey…

I’m feelin kinda weary, I been cryin all day and I need a little break.»

Well I was sittin in the meditation hall and I didn’t know why I was there.

Well maybe I was runnin from the noise outside or maybe I was runnin to the

stillness there.

And then I came upon greed, hatred and delusion and oh, how I did fear.

I said «Hey…

what’s the quickest way to freedom and love, how do I rise above?»

Said «Hey…

I’m feelin kinda weary I’ve been sittin all day with my mind in disarray.»

And they said «Baby there aint no shortcuts on your way.

Baby there aint no highways in these parts.

If you really wanna get to where you’re goin.»

Stavamo guidando nei boschi di campagna e non sapevamo perché eravamo lì.

Beh, forse stavamo scappando dalla grande città o forse stavamo correndo verso la

aria di montagna.

E poi ci siamo imbattuti in una cabina di un ristorante e oh, come ci fissavano.

Ho detto «Ehi...

qual è il modo più veloce per il tuo Motel 6, in questi bastoncini?"

ci sentiamo un po' stanchi, abbiamo guidato tutto il giorno e abbiamo bisogno di un posto dove stare.»

E loro hanno detto: "Baby, non ci sono scorciatoie sulla tua strada.

Beh, ero seduto sul divano del terapista e non sapevo perché ero lì.

orecchio.

E poi mi sono imbattuto in un labirinto di emozioni e oh, come ho fatto paura.

Dissi: «Ehi...

qual è la via più veloce per uscire da questo pasticcio verso quella felicità?»

Disse «Ehi...

Mi sento un po' stanco, ho pianto tutto il giorno e ho bisogno di una piccola pausa.»

E loro hanno detto: "Baby, non ci sono scorciatoie sulla tua strada.

Tesoro non ci sono autostrade da queste parti.

Bene, ero seduto nella sala di meditazione e non sapevo perché ero lì.

Beh, forse stavo scappando dal rumore esterno o forse stavo correndo verso il

quiete lì.

E poi mi sono imbattuto in avidità, odio e illusione e oh, come ho fatto paura.

Ho detto «Ehi...

qual è il modo più rapido per la libertà e l'amore, come faccio a salire in alto?»

Disse «Ehi...

Mi sento un po' stanco di essere stato seduto tutto il giorno con la mente allo sbando.»

E loro hanno detto: "Baby, non ci sono scorciatoie sulla tua strada.

Tesoro non ci sono autostrade da queste parti.
