Apogee - Hit the Switch

A late martyr to us all

The ever growing presence

Cradled in her womb through all these years

While beaten by the sun

And through her silenced cries

They failed to make things right

Among the million times we tried

But to no avail

The might of all is burned

I felt the reeling of our hearts intrepid sight

We can’t see the world’s suffering and vulnerable inside

It’s not her need to come undone

It’s just the markings of our selfish impulsions

The coming sun

I felt the anger come over me

I hated everyone else

I victimized the pain

I saw the worst in each stranger’s faceless name

It’s not the way that this had to be

We all bought meaning from our lives

Entire values were all prescribed

And all minds commodified

I felt the burning of her grip

And it laced right though my heart

I felt alone but I still kept it moving on

And once I couldn’t feel the pain

I released it to the world

A feeling touched by all the same

I couldn’t see I felt the collective betrayed

This futile few that kept the night

Traveled a thousand years to learn to break the soul

Is it appealing to you now

This all stops when you change

All of this pain we can’t realize

It’s someone else’s home

She witnessed the killing of loved ones

They died in vein

And though I couldn’t speak for her

I felt the overwhelming loss

And everything becomes as one

I see myself

I see wife

I see my son

This isn’t new to Mother Earth

She has allowed the seventh sun to be the final one

Last embrace before it’s gone

There’s no more home

I share a common guilt here too

Just call my name

Un tardo martire per tutti noi

La presenza sempre crescente

Cullata nel suo grembo per tutti questi anni

Mentre picchiato dal sole

E attraverso le sue grida silenziose

Non sono riusciti a sistemare le cose

Tra le milioni di volte che abbiamo provato

Ma inutilmente

La potenza di tutti è bruciata

Ho sentito il vacillare dei nostri cuori vista intrepida

Non possiamo vedere dentro di noi la sofferenza e la vulnerabilità del mondo

Non è lei il bisogno che si disfa

Sono solo i segni dei nostri impulsi egoistici

Il sole che viene

Ho sentito la rabbia venire su di me

Odiavo tutti gli altri

Ho vittimato il dolore

Ho visto il peggio nel nome senza volto di ogni sconosciuto

Non è così che doveva essere

Abbiamo tutti acquistato un significato dalle nostre vite

Tutti i valori sono stati prescritti

E tutte le menti mercificate

Ho sentito il bruciore della sua presa

E si è allacciato proprio attraverso il mio cuore

Mi sentivo solo ma continuavo ad andare avanti

E una volta non riuscivo a sentire il dolore

L'ho rilasciato al mondo

Una sensazione toccata da tutti lo stesso

Non riuscivo a vedere, sentivo il collettivo tradito

Questi pochi futili che hanno tenuto la notte

Ha viaggiato mille anni per imparare a spezzare l'anima

Ti interessa ora

Tutto questo si ferma quando cambi

Tutto questo dolore che non possiamo realizzare

È la casa di qualcun altro

Ha assistito all'uccisione di persone care

Sono morti in vena

E anche se non potevo parlare per lei

Ho sentito la perdita schiacciante

E tutto diventa come uno

Vedo me stesso

Vedo moglie

Vedo mio figlio

Non è una novità per Madre Terra

Ha permesso che il settimo sole fosse l'ultimo

Ultimo abbraccio prima che se ne vada

Non c'è più casa
