He burden of life

Weighs heavy on the shoulders

Of those who arose

From within time

Shadows seeping through their skin

Like a darkened liquid

Nesting inside their thoughts

Breeding within their minds

Time corrupts even the brightest light

Like roots it grows

Deeper and deeper into the suffocating intellect

Spreading like a virus

Eyes once white and clear

Now nothing but a bleak vision of what is to come

Brought to its knees

The monolith awaits

Inch by inch the gate draws closer

Like a gaping mouth

Awaiting to devour the last remnants

Of this hollow sphere

Time corrupts even the brightest light

Like roots it grows

Deeper and deeper into the suffocating intellect

Spreading like a virus
