Haunted House - John Anderson

I just moved in my new house today

Moving was hard but I got squared away

Bells started ringing and chains rattled loud

I knew I’d done moved in a haunted house

Still I made up my mind to stay

And nothing was gonna drive me away

Till I seen something that gave me the creeps

It had a one big eye and two big feet

I stood right still and I did the freeze

And it did stroll right up to me

Made a noise with his feet that sounded like a drum

Said, «Don't you be here when morning comes»

Say if I be here when morning comes

I’ll be right here and I ain’t gonna run

'Cause I bought this house and you know I’m boss

And ain’t no haunt gonna run me off

In the kitchen the stove was a blazing hot

The coffee was a boiling in the old pot

Oh the grease had melted in my pan

I had a hunk of meat in my hand

He ate the raw meat right from my hand

Then he drank all the grease from the frying pan

Said to me, «Boy, you better run

And don’t you be here when morning comes»

Say if I be here when morning comes

I’ll be right here and I ain’t gonna run

'Cause I bought this house now you know I’m boss

And ain’t no haunt like you’s gonna run me off

Mi sono appena trasferito nella mia nuova casa oggi

Perché ho comprato questa casa e sai che sono il capo

E non c'è nessun ritrovo che mi scaccerà

In cucina la stufa era bollente

Il caffè stava bollendo nella vecchia pentola

Oh, il grasso si era sciolto nella mia padella

Avevo in mano un pezzo di carne

Ha mangiato la carne cruda direttamente dalla mia mano

Poi ha bevuto tutto il grasso della padella

Mi ha detto: «Ragazzo, è meglio che corri

E non essere qui quando arriva il mattino»

Sarò proprio qui e non scapperò
