Another day in the life

As I stepped on the block, pressure closing in closer

I saw a pole with my picture on a «Most Wanted» poster

Accusing me of murder, an inaccurate quote

Oh, I get it, someone’s trying to play a practical joke

Just as soon as I approached and started snatching it down

I got a call that said that they were plastered all over town

I said, «I guess I better get somewhere and figure this out»

This whole chain of events triggered more inquisitive doubt

I showed up at my girl’s house that evening, she was steaming mad

Accusing me of sneaking out and scheming

Immediately told me I’ve been cheating

Then pulled out a picture of me and the lady at a table eating

I vehemently refused to claim it

But looking at myself on the photo it was hard to explain it

She tried to get a confession out of me

But it was obviously a doctored up product of computer technology

I thought of explanations I could maybe explore

But in my heart I knew I’d never seen that lady before

Though I knew it wasn’t me I was confused and depleted

Snatched the picture out her hand and to the room I retreated

I laid across the bed deep thinking and breathing

Am I dreaming?

Is it real or is my sanity leaving?

News man on the television tripled my load

Speaking of a fugitive but it was me that they showed

Now I’m questioning reality, I’m dazed and confused

First the poster, then the picture, now my face on the news?!

Went outside again and ran into my man on the block

Instead of dapping he approached me with his hand on his Glock

He said, «I see the real you is now revealing at last

You got the nerve to come around me after stealing my stash»

I said, «Man, what you talking about?

You gotta be sick!»

He said, «How did you change clothes and hide the product so quick?

It would of been impossible for you to jack and attack me

On foot, then beat me back when I’m driving.»

I said, «Exactly

Something’s going on.

It wasn’t me, man

I’ve been blamed for 4 stunts in a three hour span»

He said, «But it was you, same face, same height, slim.»

I said, «Well, let’s go back to where you last saw me, I mean 'him'

I mean… Let’s just go, please help me look for him»

Before we even took a step I looked behind me and saw him

Didn’t have to chase him, he was coming in our direction

As I faced him, he mimicked my every move to perfection

He had replicated my physical down to the letter

And I’d have thought it was me too if I didn’t know better

I asked him of his purpose, when he said it I knew it

A parallel universe opened up and he came through it

«So, you committed all those acts while wearing my shoes

Buy why me out of six billion others to choose?»

He said, «Why not?

Out of six billion brains to test

A thorough analytic study proved that yours was the best

Everybody was impressed and that included me too

I decided to come to your universe and be you»

I told him, «I wasn’t looking for a war in the least

I don’t have a problem with you, man I’m all about peace

It makes no sense to do evil under my image and name

You’ll get the blame.»

He said, «Not after I alter their brains»

I lunged out at him on the ground, we started to roll

When we separated we were wearing identical clothes

Now my partner was confused straight bewildered and froze

We both know the fake one goes once the real one is chose

When the people came they knew that I had been framed

They saw two K-Rinos looking exactly the same

He knew everything that I knew or ever conceived

And told my mother if she picked the real one he would leave

She looked in our eyes then deep in our souls

Said, «I know my son anywhere the fake is exposed»

At that moment a portal opened up in the sky

The other K was sucked through it and people started to cry

Tears of joy for the victory of dodging his wrath

But when they looked at me they heard only a sinister laugh

Right then the scenario was understood quick

It was me that got removed the whole thing was a trick

I was in another realm by the time they discovered

He had staged the process and put a spell on my mother

As for me, I’m now trapped in a place you couldn’t fathom

Un altro giorno nella vita

Quando ho calpestato il blocco, la pressione si è avvicinata

Ho visto un palo con la mia foto su un poster di «Most Wanted».

Accusandomi di omicidio, una citazione imprecisa

Oh, ho capito, qualcuno sta cercando di fare uno scherzo pratico

Non appena mi sono avvicinato e ho iniziato a strapparlo

Ho ricevuto una chiamata che diceva che erano intonacati in tutta la città

Ho dissi: «Penso che sia meglio che vada da qualche parte e capirlo»

L'intera catena di eventi ha suscitato dubbi più curiosi

Quella sera mi sono presentato a casa della mia ragazza, era fumante

Accusandomi di sgattaiolare fuori e tramare

Immediatamente mi ha detto che stavo barando

Quindi ho tirato fuori una foto di me e della signora a un tavolo mentre mangiavamo

Mi sono rifiutato con veemenza di rivendicarlo

Ma guardandomi sulla foto è stato difficile spiegarlo

Ha cercato di ottenere una confessione da me

Ma era ovviamente un prodotto medico della tecnologia informatica

Ho pensato a spiegazioni che potrei forse esplorare

Ma nel mio cuore sapevo di non aver mai visto quella signora prima

Anche se sapevo che non ero io, ero confuso ed esausto

Afferrò la foto dalla mano e nella stanza mi ritirai

Rimasi sdraiato sul letto pensando e respirando profondamente

Sto sognando?

È reale o la mia sanità mentale se ne va?

Il giornalista in televisione ha triplicato il mio carico

A proposito di un fuggitivo, ma sono stato io a mostrarlo

Ora metto in discussione la realtà, sono stordito e confuso

Prima il poster, poi la foto, ora la mia faccia al telegiornale?!

Sono uscito di nuovo e ho incontrato il mio uomo sull'isolato

Invece di battere ciglio, si è avvicinato a me con la mano sulla sua Glock

Disse: «Vedo il vero che ora stai finalmente rivelando

Hai avuto il coraggio di aggirarmi dopo aver rubato la mia scorta»

Dissi: «Amico, di cosa parli?

Devi essere malato!»

Disse: «Come hai fatto a cambiarti i vestiti e nascondere il prodotto così in fretta?

Sarebbe stato impossibile per te prendermi in giro e attaccarmi

A piedi, poi respingimi mentre guido.»

Dissi: «Esattamente

Qualcosa sta succedendo.

Non sono stato io, amico

Sono stato accusato di 4 acrobazie in tre ore»

Disse: «Ma eri tu, stesso viso, stessa altezza, magro».

Dissi: «Bene, torniamo al punto in cui mi hai visto l'ultima volta, intendo 'lui'

Voglio dire... andiamo, per favore aiutami a cercarlo»

Prima ancora di fare un passo, ho guardato dietro di me e l'ho visto

Non doveva inseguirlo, stava venendo nella nostra direzione

Mentre lo affrontavo, imitava ogni mia mossa alla perfezione

Aveva replicato il mio fisico fino alla lettera

E avrei pensato che fossi stato anche io se non l'avessi saputo

Gli ho chiesto del suo scopo, quando lo ha detto lo sapevo

Si è aperto un universo parallelo e lui lo ha superato

«Quindi hai commesso tutti quegli atti indossando le mie scarpe

Acquista perché io tra sei miliardi di altri scegliere?"

Disse: «Perché no?

Su sei miliardi di cervelli da testare

Uno studio analitico approfondito ha dimostrato che il tuo era il migliore

Tutti sono rimasti colpiti e questo includeva anche me

Gli ho detto: «Non stavo cercando minimamente una guerra

Disse: «Non dopo che avrò alterato i loro cervelli»

Mi sono lanciato verso di lui a terra, abbiamo iniziato a rotolare

Quando ci siamo separati indossavamo abiti identici

Ora il mio partner era confuso, disorientato e congelato

Sappiamo entrambi che quello falso scompare una volta scelto quello vero

Quando le persone sono arrivate sapevano che ero stato incastrato

Hanno visto due K-Rino esattamente uguali

Sapeva tutto ciò che io sapevo o mai concepito

E ho detto a mia madre che se avesse scelto quello vero, lui l'avrebbe lasciato

Ha guardato nei nostri occhi e poi nel profondo delle nostre anime

Disse: «Conosco mio figlio ovunque sia esposto il falso»

In quel momento si aprì un portale nel cielo

L'altra K è stata risucchiata attraverso di essa e la gente ha iniziato a piangere

Lacrime di gioia per la vittoria di aver schivato la sua ira

Ma quando mi hanno guardato hanno sentito solo una risata sinistra

In quel momento lo scenario fu capito rapidamente

Sono stato io a essere rimosso, l'intera faccenda era un trucco

Ero in un altro regno quando hanno scoperto

Aveva organizzato il processo e fatto un incantesimo su mia madre

Quanto a me, ora sono intrappolato in un posto che non riuscivi a capire

Come farò a tornare indietro?
