The Feathered Tiger - Kaleidoscope

Long time ago I had a dream all about a magic zoo

And the animals that lived there were in love like me and you

In the dream I wandered slowly in-between each magic cage

And the animals looked happy as they played their silly games

As the dream unwrapped around me, I could see their colours clear

As the minutes split to seconds, I found you were standing near

So we wandered through the happy of the little magic zoo

And the animals were quiet as they stared at me and you

As the sun rose we bought ice cream but we couldn’t eat it all

So we gave it to the animals to keep them very cool

Their happy laughter filled our ears and it made us happy too

The animals were beautiful in their yellows, reds and blues

But in shadows of their victory, we did find a silent cage

And the animal that lived there didn’t seem to want to play

We looked between the rusty bars through the darkness of the cage

And suddenly we saw the sad as the feathered tiger lay

We found a key, unlocked the bars of the feathered tiger’s cell

And with words of kindness begged him his story to us would tell

But he was so very scared, he said we would laugh at him

So we led him to the sunshine and played games but let him win

We all played amongst the colours in the little magic zoo

And soon he was much happier and we both loved him too

But the evening drew in swiftly and the feathered tiger cried

He was sad because we had to leave and the sun slipped from the sky

But we told him to act bravely and to never feel unclean

He was the only feathered tiger that we both had ever seen

We told him, «Only be yourself, you don’t really want to change

To be yourself is beautiful, to be someone else is strange»

The feathered tiger disappeared and so did my magic zoo

And as I opened up my eyes, there was nothing else but you

Molto tempo fa ho fatto un sogno tutto su uno zoo magico

E gli animali che vivevano lì erano innamorati come me e te

Nel sogno vagavo lentamente tra ogni gabbia magica

E gli animali sembravano felici mentre giocavano ai loro stupidi giochi

Mentre il sogno si svolgeva intorno a me, potevo vedere i loro colori chiari

Mentre i minuti si dividevano in secondi, ho scoperto che eri lì vicino

Quindi abbiamo vagato attraverso il felice del piccolo zoo magico

E gli animali erano silenziosi mentre fissavano me e te

Al sorgere del sole abbiamo comprato il gelato ma non potevamo mangiarlo tutto

Quindi lo abbiamo dato agli animali per mantenerli molto freschi

La loro risata felice ha riempito le nostre orecchie e ha reso felici anche noi

Gli animali erano belli nei loro gialli, rossi e blu

Ma all'ombra della loro vittoria, abbiamo trovato una gabbia silenziosa

E l'animale che viveva lì sembrava non voler giocare

Abbiamo guardato tra le sbarre arrugginite attraverso l'oscurità della gabbia

E all'improvviso abbiamo visto il triste mentre giaceva la tigre piumata

Abbiamo trovato una chiave, sbloccato le sbarre della cella della tigre piumata

E con parole di gentilezza lo implorò che la sua storia ci raccontasse

Ma era così spaventato che ha detto che avremmo riso di lui

Quindi lo abbiamo portato al sole e abbiamo giocato, ma lo abbiamo lasciato vincere

Abbiamo giocato tutti tra i colori del piccolo zoo magico

E presto fu molto più felice e anche noi lo amavamo entrambi

Ma la sera si avvicinava rapidamente e la tigre piumata pianse

Era triste perché dovevamo partire e il sole scivolava dal cielo

Ma gli abbiamo detto di agire con coraggio e di non sentirsi mai impuro

Era l'unica tigre piumata che entrambi avessimo mai visto

Gli abbiamo detto: «Sii solo te stesso, non vuoi davvero cambiare

Essere te stesso è bello, essere qualcun altro è strano»

La tigre piumata è scomparsa e anche il mio zoo magico

E mentre ho aperto gli occhi, non c'era nient'altro che te
