In the interest of vanity

Grasping for immortality

Does true fire dwell in all of us

Or the ashes of nothingness?

No corporeal certainty

Can unriddle this mystery

Desperate notions that pass us by

Apparitions which draw the eye

Cast all falsehoods, all brain-sick myth

To the world far beneath us

Stab your eyes out in reverie

Force a post into history

Were we merely accessories

To a greater trajectory?

What exists in that deathless flame, oh

Also lives in the human frame

Banish logic, all useless doubt

To the fiery hole

Like the spheres do we orbit now

As above so below, they let me down
