Rose had a house in a dream

where she used to seat and have tea.

Now, it’s not there anymore.

She baked little moons with her mother

and learnt how to fish with her father

but now they’re not there anymore.

And she says «why did the sea take them from me?»

«Was he angry I didn’t learn how to swim?»

so she cries, hoping that the tears in her eyes

will take her to see them once more.

She hears people say that it’s over

that the waves have all gone to sleep

and they won’t come around anymore.

Rose aveva una casa in un sogno

dove si sedeva e prendeva il tè.

Ora non c'è più.

Ha cucinato piccole lune con sua madre

e ha imparato a pescare con suo padre

ma ora non ci sono più.

E lei dice «perché il mare me li ha portati via?»

«Era arrabbiato per non aver imparato a nuotare?»

così piange, sperando che le lacrime nei suoi occhi

la porterà a vederli ancora una volta.

Sente la gente dire che è finita

che le onde sono andate tutte a dormire

e non verranno più.

E lei dice «perché il mare me li ha portati via?»

«Era arrabbiato per non aver imparato a nuotare?»

così piange, sperando che le lacrime nei suoi occhi

la porterà a vederli ancora una volta.
