The Storks - Marc Almond

Sometimes it seems to me that soldiers

While fighting on the battlefields did not die

No longer they lie under the cold ground

But are white storks flying free across the sky

They’re still there from wars long ago forgotten

Still flying there I hear their mournful cries

Is taht why I’m often feeling so sad

And silent while looking at the skies?

Forever flying flying the tired skein

Through the fog we make their weary way

And there whithin the wedge a small space

It may be a place for me one day

And amongst the other storks you’ll see me sometimes

Gliding like a ghost you’ll hear the sound

Of me calling like a bird under the grey clouds

To all of you I left upon the ground

A volte mi sembra che i soldati

Mentre combatteva sui campi di battaglia non è morto

Non giacciono più sotto il freddo terreno

Ma sono cicogne bianche che volano libere nel cielo

Sono ancora lì da guerre dimenticate molto tempo fa

Ancora in volo, sento le loro grida tristi

Ecco perché spesso mi sento così triste

E silenzioso mentre guardi il cielo?

Volare per sempre volando sulla matassa stanca

Attraverso la nebbia facciamo la loro strada stanca

E lì dentro il cuneo un piccolo spazio

Potrebbe essere un posto per me un giorno

E tra le altre cicogne mi vedrai a volte

Scivolando come un fantasma sentirai il suono

Di me che chiamo come un uccello sotto le nuvole grigie

A tutti voi ho lasciato per terra
