In the desert a voice is crying

Prepare the way for Messiah’s coming

By the banks of the Jordan, he was waiting

For the sign of the one who would surely come

When he heard what the thunder now was saying

It was clear this must be the chosen One

The deaf will hear, and the dumb will talk

The blind will see, and the lame will walk

With the light of the Father in His face

Son of God He had been since the beginning

Now as son of man Jesus took his place
