Now I used to smoke the twine

And I used to chop the line

Every morning pay the fine

Wake up red-eye from the wine

Then a bird taught me to sing

And I met the Lotus King

And my residence was through

In the Land of Sanpaku

I chewed the root until my brain was fried

I can’t remember all the highs I tried

I always crashed no matter where I flew

Sinking in the quicksand of Sanpaku

Then a brown-eyed woman took me by the hand

She said: «Mery me, you’ve got to understand

This poison life will be the death of you»

Then she led me from the jungles of Sanpaku

Ora fumavo lo spago

E io tagliavo la linea
