One thing I ask of the Lord

This is what I seek

That I may dwell in the house of the Lord

All the days of my life

To gaze upon the beauty of the Lord

And to seek Him in His temple

For this reason I kneel before the Father

From whom every family in heaven

And on earth derives its name

I pray that out of his glorious riches

He may strengthen you with power

Through his Spirit in your inner being

So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love

May have power, together with all God’s people

To grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ

And to know this love that surpasses knowledge

That you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God

Now to Him who is able to keep you from falling

And to present you before his glorious presence

Without fault and with great joy

To the only God our Saviour

Be glory and majesty and power and authority

Through Jesus Christ our Lord

Before all ages, now and forevermore!

Una cosa chiedo al Signore

Questo è ciò che cerco

Affinché io possa abitare nella casa del Signore

Tutti i giorni della mia vita

Per guardare la bellezza del Signore

E a cercarlo nel suo tempio

Per questo mi inginocchio davanti al Padre

Da cui ogni famiglia in paradiso

E sulla terra deriva il suo nome

Lo prego dalle sue gloriose ricchezze

Per afferrare quanto è largo, lungo, alto e profondo l'amore di Cristo

E conoscere questo amore che supera la conoscenza

Affinché tu possa essere riempito a misura di tutta la pienezza di Dio

Ora a Colui che è in grado di impedirti di cadere

E per presentarti davanti alla sua gloriosa presenza

Senza colpa e con grande gioia

All'unico Dio nostro Salvatore

Sii gloria, maestà, potere e autorità

Per Gesù Cristo nostro Signore

Prima di tutte le età, ora e per sempre!
