The life in us is like water in a river

May rise this year, may rise higher than man has ever known

May come to pass that a mortal flowing river

Will rise so high, flood the mountainside to the valleys down below

The sun up above shines its fury on the prairie

You can’t hide from it, you can try it, but you’ll never get away

These are fields the clouds have all forsaken

They’ve taken off, no more waterfalls till the earth has turned to clay

The land where we dwell will not always be dry I see

Foreign land banks that were washed by the ancient stream

I see it all from where I’m standing on the mountain

Hear the valleys cry, still some question why

They cannot see the way

They’re digging graves, every day they’re getting deeper

For the birds that fly through the darkened sky

Will there be another day?

Long after we’re gone, still the earth will turn round and round

And all we’ve created will crumble into the ground

Può salire quest'anno, può salire più in alto di quanto l'uomo abbia mai conosciuto

Può succedere che un fiume che scorre mortale

Si alzerà così in alto, inonderà il fianco della montagna nelle valli sottostanti

Il sole in alto illumina la sua furia nella prateria

Non puoi nasconderti da esso, puoi provarlo, ma non te la caverai mai

Questi sono campi che tutte le nuvole hanno abbandonato

Sono decollati, niente più cascate finché la terra non si è trasformata in argilla

La terra in cui abitiamo non sarà sempre asciutta, vedo

Banche di terra straniera bagnate dall'antico ruscello

Vedo tutto da dove mi trovo sulla montagna

Ascolta le valli piangere, ancora qualche domanda sul perché

Non possono vedere la strada

Stanno scavando fosse, ogni giorno diventano sempre più profonde

Per gli uccelli che volano nel cielo oscurato

Ci sarà un altro giorno?

Molto tempo dopo che ce ne saremo andati, la terra continuerà a girare su se stessa

E tutto ciò che abbiamo creato crollerà nel terreno
