Racing - Null Device

Orange pylons racing by the light

Mercury beams sliding through night

Figures move as shadows crawl

Here beneath the heart of it all

At high speeds we look to see

And we try to mind the signs

Racing by, we fail to recognize

All the things that cannot be

Lights off the horizon

All the world’s poetry outdone

Do I see the future

Or do I see the sun?

Broken lines speeding through the night

Vapor red glows cut though my sight

Fog enshrouds the still air whole

Racing toward the final goal

In this way we speed on by

To raise our voices in time

Flying on with planets crashing down

And we merely curse the skies

Glow looming in the distance

Promising days still to come

Do I see tomorrow

Or do I see the sun?

Purple shadows fading in the light

Halogen lamps fading from sight

Silence grows as echoes crash

Run aground on the culture clash

In this race we try to see

Never stop to read the minds

Speeding by, we fail to realize

All the things that will not be

The lights from the horizon

Tralicci arancioni che corrono alla luce

Raggi di mercurio che scivolano nella notte

Le figure si muovono mentre le ombre strisciano

Qui sotto il cuore di tutto

Ad alta velocità, cerchiamo di vedere

E cerchiamo di fare attenzione ai segni

Correndo, non riconosciamo

Tutte le cose che non possono essere

Luci fuori dall'orizzonte

Tutta la poesia del mondo superata

Vedo il futuro

O vedo il sole?

Linee spezzate che sfrecciano nella notte

I bagliori rossi del vapore tagliano la mia vista

La nebbia avvolge tutta l'aria immobile

Corsa verso l'obiettivo finale

In questo modo acceleriamo

Per alzare la voce in tempo

Volare con i pianeti che si schiantano

E noi semplicemente malediciamo i cieli

Bagliore incombente in lontananza

Giorni promettenti che devono ancora venire

Vedo domani

O vedo il sole?

Ombre viola che svaniscono nella luce

Lampade alogene che svaniscono dalla vista

Il silenzio cresce mentre gli echi si infrangono

Incagliarsi nello scontro culturale

In questa gara cerchiamo di vedere

Non smettere mai di leggere nella mente

Accelerando, non ce ne rendiamo conto

Tutte le cose che non saranno

Le luci dell'orizzonte

Tutta la poesia del mondo superata
