Zoe - Oh Susanna

When Zoe ate her birthday cake

she threw icing on the wall

And they sent her to her room

no more birthdays 'til next June

But don’t they know it’s lovely though

to watch the icing falll?

And to see the tracks it makes

sticky streams of chocolate cake

But wasn’t it her brother Joe

who egged her on the throw?

«Be like that famous pitcher

in that late night picture show, picture show.»

As Zoe cried herself to sleep

she vowed to show them all

«You will see that I am great

'specially now that I am eight.»

Quando Zoe ha mangiato la sua torta di compleanno

ha gettato la glassa sul muro

E l'hanno mandata nella sua stanza

niente più compleanni fino al prossimo giugno

Ma non sanno che è adorabile però

guardare la glassa cadere?

E per vedere le tracce che fa

flussi appiccicosi di torta al cioccolato

Ma non era suo fratello Joe

chi l'ha incitata al lancio?

«Sii come quel famoso lanciatore

in quello spettacolo cinematografico a tarda notte, spettacolo fotografico.»

Mentre Zoe piangeva per addormentarsi

ha promesso di mostrarli tutti

«Vedrai che sono grande

'specialmente ora che ho otto otto anni.»
