On the 11th day of February 1990

I was glad to be alive and able to see

Nelson Mandela walking proud and free

After 27 years in captivity

In this world we’re living in so many things are changing

People are now fighting for what they believe in

Hand in hand woman and man march against the system

And their telling all their leaders to do the right thing yeah

Do the right thing, do the right thing (come on)

Do the right thing, world leaders, do the right thing

Amandla (power to the people)

Amandla awe tu!

Now the struggle isn’t over no the struggle’s just begun

And the fight against apart-hate must go on & on & on

'Cause equal rights and justice should apply to everyone

And if it don’t then there is something definitely wrong

So freedom fighters near and far make room cause here I come

And I ain’t gonna stop ain’t gonna give it up until the battle’s won

We want black and white to all unite together as one

'cause united we stand but divided we are done

So all South Africans come on hear me when I sing

'cause my message to all of you is never give in

In the fight against evil goodness will win

Sono stato felice di essere vivo e in grado di vedere

Nelson Mandela cammina orgoglioso e libero

Dopo 27 anni di prigionia

In questo mondo in cui viviamo, tante cose stanno cambiando

Le persone ora stanno combattendo per ciò in cui credono

Mano nella mano donna e uomo marciano contro il sistema

E dicono a tutti i loro leader di fare la cosa giusta, sì

Fate la cosa giusta, leader mondiali, fate la cosa giusta

Amandla (potere al popolo)

Amandla stupisci tu!

Ora la lotta non è finita, no, la lotta è appena iniziata

E la lotta contro l'odio per la separazione deve andare avanti e avanti

Perché uguali diritti e giustizia dovrebbero applicarsi a tutti

E in caso contrario, c'è qualcosa di decisamente sbagliato

Quindi i combattenti per la libertà vicini e lontani fanno spazio perché eccomi qui

E non mi fermerò, non rinuncerò fino a quando la battaglia non sarà vinta

Vogliamo che il bianco e il nero si uniscano tutti insieme come uno

Perché uniti siamo ma divisi abbiamo finito

Quindi tutti i sudafricani andiamo a sentirmi quando canto

perché il mio messaggio per tutti voi è di non arrendersi mai

Nella lotta contro il male vincerà la bontà

E se sei d'accordo, sei libero di partecipare e festeggiare
