Beannaithe na boicht:

Beidsean i dtigh Dé;

'S beannaithe an drong mhín:

Tír neimhe a dtír féin.

Beannaithe lucht an bhróin:

Sólás dóibh is dú;

Beannaithe lucht síth':

Clann Dé Bhí iad siúd.

Beannaithe an t-ocrach ceart

Óir sástar i dtigh Dé;

'S fear na trócaire fós —

Do gheibh a nós féin

Beannaithe fós iad sin —

Lucht an chroí ghlain réidh;

Ba aoibhinn dóibh siúd

Is do chífid gnúis Dé.

(Blessed are the poor:

In God’s house shall they dwell;

And blessed too the gentle ones:

The land of Heaven is theirs.

Blessed are the sorrowful:

Solace is due unto them;

Blessed are the peaceful:

They are the family of the Living God.

Blessed are the truly hungry

For they are satisfed in God’s house;

And yet too the merciful —

They will receive their own practice.

More blessed even still are they —

The clean and pure of heart;

Delightful it were for them

That they should see God’s face.)

Beati i poveri:

Saranno nella casa di Dio;

Benedetta la banda gentile:

Il paradiso è il loro paese.

Beati coloro che piangono:

La consolazione per loro è nera;

Beati gli operatori di pace':

Erano i figli di Dio.

Beato il giusto affamato

Perché c'è gioia nella casa di Dio;

L'uomo di misericordia è ancora -

Prendi la tua abitudine

Beati ancora questi -

Pronti quelli dal cuore puro;

È stato un piacere per quelli

Il tuo è il volto di Dio.

(Beati i poveri:

Abiteranno nella casa di Dio;

E benedetti anche i gentili:

La terra del paradiso è loro.

Beati gli addolorati:

A loro è dovuto il sollievo;

Beati i pacifici:

Sono la famiglia del Dio vivente.

Beati i veri affamati

Perché sono saziati nella casa di Dio;

Eppure anche il misericordioso -

Riceveranno la propria pratica.

Sono ancora più benedetti anche loro -

Il puro e puro di cuore;

Delizioso è stato per loro

Che dovrebbero vedere il volto di Dio).
