Good morning world — I have to say it’s great to be alive!

The harbor seals and orca whales are swimming side by side

The water’s clear as crystal and the sun’s just woken up —

An intertidal animal looks out behind a rock

The ochre sea stars tanning in the radiant rays of light

A black bear and a grizzly bear is crossing the divide

I think I’ll light a fire, ear some food take a swim —

Or maybe I’ll just sit a little while and take the beauty in

This majestic and magical place

Embracing me with beauty, this enchanting haze

Forever in God’s Pocket, that’s where I will be

When my soul departs from my body

The green and graceful junipers and tallest silver firs

Are looking down at me as I am digging through the earth

Foraging for nuts and berries, wild mushrooms and roots

Filing up my boat with the West’s richest autumn food

My journey now continues, I am half way around the world —

Looking back in awe, drifting down mighty blue rivers

I’m not a navigator;

I’m just sailing with the wind

And if the wind is on my side it’ll take me here again

This majestic and magical place

Drifting southeast, now along the coastline

We hear the civilized circus on port side

A new chapter starts in a new land

But in my mind I’m still at the island

Buongiorno mondo, devo dire che è fantastico essere vivi!

Le foche del porto e le orche nuotano fianco a fianco

L'acqua è limpida come cristallo e il sole si è appena svegliato —

Un animale intertidale guarda dietro una roccia

Le stelle ocra del mare si abbronzano nei raggi radiosi della luce

Un orso nero e un orso grizzly stanno attraversando il confine

Penso che accenderò un fuoco, ascolta un po' di cibo, fai una nuotata...

O forse mi siedo per un po' e mi godo la bellezza

Questo luogo maestoso e magico

Abbracciandomi con la bellezza, questa foschia incantevole

Per sempre nella tasca di Dio, ecco dove sarò

Quando la mia anima si allontana dal mio corpo

I verdi e graziosi ginepri e gli altissimi abeti bianchi

Mi stanno guardando dall'alto mentre sto scavando attraverso la terra

Ricerca di noci e frutti di bosco, funghi selvatici e radici

Riempire la mia barca con il cibo autunnale più ricco dell'Occidente

Il mio viaggio ora continua, sono dall'altra parte del mondo -

Guardando indietro con ammirazione, alla deriva lungo potenti fiumi blu

Non sono un navigatore;

Sto solo navigando con il vento

E se il vento è dalla mia parte, mi riporterà qui

Alla deriva a sud-est, ora lungo la costa

Sentiamo il circo civile a babordo

Un nuovo capitolo inizia in una nuova terra

Ma nella mia mente sono ancora sull'isola
