Starless -

Torn from sleep I awoke into a moonless night, gently shaking with every breath

I took inside my lungs I lay there for what felt like eternity.

I swear there’s

something watching me…

The stillness shattered, can this horror taste my fear my body taken and

scraped over a broken mirror, dragged away from the warmth and comfort of the

light, into a darkness cold as ice…

I’ve prayed for forgiveness on my knees, with God as my witness I’ve deceived

these ghosts with a promise that I’ll never keep it’s just so damn tempting but

I’m overwhelmed by the pain and the fear, just a taste of what lies on the

other side of the mirror where the haunting whispers are drawing me nearer to

an infinite spiraling infernal vortex

A dying sun, a black inferno.

Radiant night, starless;

eternal

And so they carried me on shredded hopeless wings, ever marching toward the

deep «God, have mercy!»

He turned his head and looked away.

«Don't let them

take me!»

Behind his mask I see a grin.

«I don’t deserve this!»

I lived my life

without a sin yet here I lie amongst the damned.

Pitching me down under the ice

and blood, a broken angel screams «Here is your God!»

I am greeted at last by a glimpse of his agony, through the spacial distortion.

Contorted with rage, twisted with pain and unending misery, frozen in time,

ne’er dead nor alive, trapped inside this starless, eternal void

A ray of light finally crossed my eyes and I crawled toward it sobbing,

hoping it would save my life.

As we met I looked around me and the hellish

sight was gone, a familiar warmth around me as I gazed out at the dawn,

but I can’t forget, their faces haunt me, every time I close my eyes I’ve

joined them in that hell but I’ve walked in His shoes and I’ve prayed in His

church and I’ve carried His cross and I’ve spoken His verse, but I’m damned

'cause the devil got to me first, God, why is this happening to me…

Strappato dal sonno, mi sono svegliato in una notte senza luna, tremando dolcemente a ogni respiro

Ho portato dentro i miei polmoni, sono rimasto lì per quella che sembrava l'eternità.

Lo giuro che c'è

qualcosa che mi guarda...

Il silenzio è andato in frantumi, può questo orrore assaporare la mia paura il mio corpo preso e

raschiato su uno specchio rotto, trascinato via dal calore e dal comfort del

luce, in un'oscurità fredda come il ghiaccio...

Ho pregato perdono in ginocchio, con Dio come testimone ho ingannato

questi fantasmi con una promessa che non manterrò mai è così dannatamente allettante ma

Sono sopraffatto dal dolore e dalla paura, solo un assaggio di ciò che c'è dentro

dall'altra parte dello specchio dove i sussurri ossessionanti mi stanno avvicinando

un vortice infernale a spirale infinita

Un sole morente, un inferno nero.

Notte radiosa, senza stelle;

eterno

E così mi hanno portato su ali senza speranza triturate, sempre in marcia verso il

profondo «Dio, abbi pietà!»

Girò la testa e distolse lo sguardo.

«Non lasciarli

Prendimi!"

Dietro la sua maschera vedo un sorriso.

«Non merito questo!»

Ho vissuto la mia vita

senza peccato ancora qui giaccio tra i dannati.

Mi scaraventa sotto il ghiaccio

e sangue, un angelo spezzato grida «Ecco il tuo Dio!»

Vengo finalmente accolto da uno scorcio della sua agonia, attraverso la distorsione spaziale.

Contorto dalla rabbia, contorto dal dolore e dalla miseria senza fine, congelato nel tempo,

né morto né vivo, intrappolato in questo vuoto eterno senza stelle

Alla fine un raggio di luce mi ha attraversato gli occhi e mi sono avvicinato singhiozzando,

sperando che mi avrebbe salvato la vita.

Quando ci siamo incontrati, mi sono guardato intorno e l'inferno

la vista era scomparsa, un calore familiare intorno a me mentre guardavo l'alba,

ma non posso dimenticare, i loro volti mi perseguitano, ogni volta che chiudo gli occhi che ho

si unì a loro in quell'inferno ma ho camminato nei suoi panni e ho pregato nei suoi

chiesa e ho portato la sua croce e ho pronunciato i suoi versi, ma sono dannato

perché il diavolo è arrivato prima a me, Dio, perché mi sta succedendo questo...
