It’s just a little dream I have;

I keep it in my pocket

Like a marble with a rainbow eye

And every now and then I check to make sure I’ve still got it

This little dream that’s like a marble with a rainbow eye

It’s not the kind of dream you’d flash about;

you’d never wear it

It’s more the kind you’d bury deep inside

I never thought I’d meet someone with whom I’d want to share it

But you’ve got something there that’s twinkling in your rainbow eye

And sometimes I feel it burning

And sometimes it’s cold as snow

I’ll keep my fingers on it, turning

And when the time is right, I’ll know

Until that day arrives, this little dream is mine for keeping

Some might lose theirs, but I’m gonna try

And every now and then I’ll check to make sure it’s not sleeping
