Wake up at 6:00, get an early start

Mum’s packed the bags

And shouting up to my brother with stern remarks

Saying if they wanna come they better hurl their arse

Out of their sacks

And get down their fast

And we gotta leave soon and the journey’s far

They’re outside trying to work the car

And they beep twice as we heard it start

We run outside and squash in the backseat

Beth gets in the gap in my mam’s feet

Sat in the footwell in the passenger side

My mum tells to get our head down if we pass police

And ask if we have wees

The girls run back but they’re daft '

Cause of me

I tell her that I have but I’m holding it 'til we pass Mc’Ds

You know what that means

In fact imma see if I can grab me one of them new Happy Meals toys that I got

last week

After a while «I'm like mum will you slap Steve?»

He’s jabbing on my back when I’m trying to get some damn sleep

She says mind your language and slaps me

Everyone laughs as we park the car and all run inside like a stampede
