The Young Man - Rebel Son

Life is a very precious thing you only get one shot

I once knew a fine young man who loved his life a lot

But for some sudden reason no one else will ever know

He gave up his family and hopes and dreams, turned loose and let them go

I wish I could have been there with him to hold his hand

I wish I could have talked to him to help him understand

That he had everything to live for these intentions were all wrong

But in the flicker of an instant a young man’s life was gone

I wish somehow I knew exactly what he felt inside

I wish I knew just what went through his mind that summer night

I know at least a thousand times I’ve asked the good Lord why

But its best to just let him rest although it’s hard to say goodbye

He’s on his way to see Jesus, he’s left us and moved on

Now all we have are memories and a name tag etched in stone

He left his world behind at a time he felt he was all alone

Now he’s comin to see Jesus, please make him feel at home

La vita è una cosa molto preziosa, hai solo una possibilità

Una volta ho conosciuto un bravo giovane che amava molto la sua vita

Ma per qualche motivo improvviso nessun altro lo saprà mai

Ha rinunciato alla sua famiglia, alle sue speranze e ai suoi sogni, si è liberato e li ha lasciati andare

Avrei voluto essere lì con lui per tenergli la mano

Avrei voluto parlargli per aiutarlo a capire

Che avesse tutto per vivere per queste intenzioni era tutto sbagliato

Ma in un attimo la vita di un giovane era svanita

Vorrei in qualche modo sapere esattamente cosa si sentiva dentro

Vorrei solo sapere cosa gli è passato per la mente quella notte d'estate

So che almeno mille volte ho chiesto al buon Dio perché

Ma è meglio lasciarlo riposare anche se è difficile dire addio

Sta andando a vedere Gesù, ci ha lasciato e se ne è andato

Ora tutto ciò che abbiamo sono i ricordi e una targhetta con il nome incisa nella pietra

Ha lasciato il suo mondo alle spalle in un momento in cui sentiva di essere tutto solo

Ora viene per vedere Gesù, per favore fallo sentire a casa
