Land of Silence - Sear Bliss

If these trees of old could speak

… oh the stories they could tell

A time when might sat high upon its mountains

Those days of pride blew away with the wind

But now silence rules this land

And everything seems to be mute

Only the streams are weeping mournfully

But if you listen their cries you can hear they’re whispering and say:

«We will conquer what once was ours»

Centuries pass and the trees of the forest have grown thicker and stronger

The snow sparkles in the winter sun, a raven perches high upon a snowy branch

To view the landscape

As I walk along this winter path I think to myself will it ever be as it was

When mighty people of long ago roamed these lands

When I cupped my hands to drink at a pool of water near a stream

I realized the answer was yes, for the wind blew the trees so the sun shone

Against the water and I saw my reflection

… I saw the portrait of a heathen

And I hear as the stream whispers…

Se questi antichi alberi potessero parlare

... oh le storie che potrebbero raccontare

Un tempo in cui potrebbe sedersi in alto sulle sue montagne

Quei giorni di orgoglio sono stati spazzati via dal vento

Ma ora il silenzio governa questa terra

E tutto sembra essere muto

Solo i ruscelli stanno piangendo tristemente

Ma se ascolti le loro grida puoi sentire che sussurrano e dire:

«Conquisteremo ciò che un tempo era nostro»

Passano i secoli e gli alberi della foresta sono diventati più fitti e più forti

La neve brilla nel sole invernale, un corvo si appollaia in alto su un ramo innevato

Per visualizzare il paesaggio

Mentre cammino lungo questo sentiero invernale, penso a me stesso che sarà mai com'era

Quando persone potenti di molto tempo fa vagavano per queste terre

Quando ho preso le mani a coppa per bere in una pozza d'acqua vicino a un ruscello

Ho realizzato che la risposta era sì, perché il vento soffiava sugli alberi così il sole splendeva

Contro l'acqua e ho visto il mio riflesso

... Ho visto il ritratto di un pagano

E sento come sussurra il ruscello...
