I saw some hippies, they were laying in the park

They were just passing around the joint and playing the guitar

So I, asked if I could join them (do you guys mind if I hang out for a lil bit?)

They said sure, and complimented my aura

I said thanks and sat right down

Pulled the hash pipe out and relaxed myself for hours straight

Sat around baked and it felt great

We talked shit and made pictures out of cloud shapes

we talked about the tofu, no shoes, folk tunes and all the protests that they

don’t do

Smoking doobies and talking 'bout the reason we were saving the entire world,

then we went and fired twelve

Later that night we were sitting in the same spot, made up my mind,

figured I’d take off

I asked 'em all «so what else do you guys do?»

They looked surprised «this is it, we get high»

As I was walking from the park where the hippies were, I bumped into a bunch of

drunks wearing business shirts

And they just finished work, having a well earned drink and they mistook me for

some dude they used to work with

Yeah they kept calling me Greg

I thought Well I could be Greg, at least for the weekend, and just pretend to

be what a sweet plan

We could be friends, at the time it made complete sense

We went into a bar where we drank, and we talked about all that money sitting

in the bank, and our job

A stock in the economy as well, and the best time to go and buy a property and

sell

And all the ways that money could be spent

A trend started to form I was bored so I said, «well, I’m looking for a scene,

and this one isn’t it»

Lifted and heard em whispering «Greg seems different»

Rocked up to a party with some cheap beer

I thought «yeah, I could easily find a scene here»

A bunch of dudes challenged me to some halo

I said okay but I’ve never really played though

I saw some pretty little hipsters in the corner, who told me that their

favourite bands were ones that hadn’t formed yet

I talked to lawyers dressed as sharks, or maybe sharks dressed as lawyers,

either way I felt unsafe in the water

I was chilling with gym junkies, talking bout their gym past spin class,

sipping slim fast from a hip flask, told a guy thought we looked the same,

didn’t think he’d take offense

Pretty weird I think he said his name was Greg

I must’ve tried at least hundred different scenes but I aint never found one

that’s really me nah

Maybe I’m a weirdo, or maybe they’re the weird ones, or maybe I don’t really

even need one

But I’m still,

Ho visto degli hippy, erano sdraiati nel parco

Mi sono seduto al forno ed è stato fantastico

Abbiamo parlato di cazzate e creato immagini con le forme delle nuvole

abbiamo parlato del tofu, niente scarpe, melodie popolari e tutte le proteste che loro

non fare

Fumando caramelle e parlando del motivo per cui stavamo salvando il mondo intero,

poi siamo andati e ne abbiamo licenziati dodici

Più tardi quella notte eravamo seduti nello stesso posto, deciso,

pensato che sarei decollato

Gli ho chiesto a tutti «allora, cos'altro fate voi ragazzi?»

Sembravano sorpresi "eccoci, ci sballiamo"

Mentre stavo camminando dal parco dove c'erano gli hippy, mi sono imbattuto in un mucchio di

ubriachi che indossano camicie da lavoro

E hanno appena finito di lavorare, bevendo un drink ben meritato e mi hanno scambiato per

un tizio con cui lavoravano

Sì, continuavano a chiamarmi Greg

Ho pensato che potevo essere Greg, almeno per il fine settimana, e fingere di esserlo

sii che dolce piano

Potevamo essere amici, all'epoca aveva perfettamente senso

Siamo entrati in un bar dove abbiamo bevuto e abbiamo parlato di tutti quei soldi seduti

in banca e il nostro lavoro

Anche un'azione nell'economia e il momento migliore per andare a comprare una proprietà e

vendere

E tutti i modi in cui i soldi potrebbero essere spesi

Ha iniziato a formarsi una tendenza, ero annoiato, quindi ho detto: "beh, sto cercando una scena,

e questo no»

Li sollevò e li sentì sussurrare «Greg sembra diverso»

Rocked a una festa con della birra a buon mercato

Ho pensato "sì, potrei facilmente trovare una scena qui"

Un gruppo di tizi mi ha sfidato a qualche aureola

Ho detto va bene, ma non ho mai giocato davvero

Ho visto alcuni graziosi hipster nell'angolo, che mi hanno detto che il loro

le band preferite erano quelle che non si erano ancora formate

Ho parlato con avvocati travestiti da squali, o forse squali travestiti da avvocati,

in ogni caso, mi sentivo insicuro in acqua

Mi stavo rilassando con i drogati di palestra, parlando della loro lezione di spinning in palestra,

sorseggiando magro velocemente da una fiaschetta, ha detto a un ragazzo che pensavamo che fossimo uguali,

non pensava che si sarebbe offeso

Piuttosto strano, penso che abbia detto che si chiamava Greg

Devo aver provato almeno un centinaio di scene diverse ma non ne ho mai trovata una

sono davvero io nah

Forse sono uno strano, o forse sono quelli strani, o forse non lo sono davvero

anche bisogno di uno

Ma sono ancora,
