Paper Boats - Silje Nergaard

How come these precious things were made to seem remote

How come the words I weighed were forced back down my throat

There was no room for honesty

No quarter that was mine

No noble cause

I tried fake a life

To fool those snapping jaws

From here I dare to launch my flimsy paper boats

I shove each gently from the shore but guard it where it floats

They must not drift too far from me I still sense danger and

They are too frail

In time they’ll catch the wind

And fly with billowed sail

Come mai queste cose preziose sono state fatte sembrare remote

Come mai le parole che ho pesato mi sono state ricacciate in gola

Non c'era spazio per l'onestà

Nessun quarto che era mio

Nessuna nobile causa

Ho provato a fingere una vita

Per ingannare quelle mascelle spezzate

Da qui oso lanciare le mie fragili barchette di carta

Spingo delicatamente ciascuno dalla riva, ma lo guardo dove galleggia

Non devono allontanarsi troppo da me Sento ancora il pericolo e

Sono troppo fragili

Col tempo prenderanno il vento

E vola con la vela gonfia
